i just got my Supermoto Magazine from the UK today. there are
no pix yet. but Jawa is building a supermotard. they are going
to try and have it ready for 2004.

i used to own 2 Jawa speedway bikes in the late 60's and they
were very, very fast. if they are anything like they used to be. it will be one bad ass bike.:cool

Here's a pic of the Jawa - CZ engine. Looks kind of like a Husaberg engine. Hope the Jawa will be more reliable than the berg!

This is what the article on supermotech (http://www.supermotech.co.uk/) says:

Spotted recently at the Sosnova round of the European Championships, the factory backed Jawa SM bike, ridden by Ice Racer Antonin Klatovsky certainly turned some heads. The whole idea of a Jawa powered SM is still in development and this one is a prototype, but it's very successful in the national championship. The JAWA motor - which is very powerful (80bhp) - left all other bikes for dead down the straights, but there is a bit of work to be done on the chassis which is currently its biggest weakness.

ice racers- now those guys raise the bar on the definition of 'fuckin' nuts'.

Mental, I tell you. Especially the Finns. :loco might be something to do with it being dark for four months solid every year.

Nope. That was in Switzerland a couple of years back- all those guys made every turn and finished the moto. The tires have 1" steel spikes on them and they're railing, not sliding.

Well, okay. They're sliding a bit, but they're NOT lowsiding.

Like it said- NUTS!

I've seen races on ice on TV before but the dude on the outside really looks like he's not gonna make it... :wow :loco

Seems to be a strategy choice- inside and less leaned but deal with the rutted up ice or go wide, very fast, and very leaned on the cleaner ice.

And we thought GP racers could lean it :laughing
