Hello,

After a long while I finally started the work on the conversion this evening. I received the wheels and assorted parts and got down for some serious conversion work.:teeth

As expected, is was pretty easy. I think it took me three hours with most of the time trying to break apart the master link on the OEM chain. But once that was off things went really well and semi-smooth.

Unfortunately I didnt get the brake rotor and the caliper adapter like I should have received. So i just installed everything with the stock brakes. But the big 320mm will be put on maybe next week. Then I will also put on the braided front line.;)

Anyway... here is a few pics of the latest BARF Motard bike. And yes I will be ready to go on a ride with your folks soon. Give me a week or so and we can rip up the coastal hills.

Yeah baby!

Already I can feel a huge difference in the way the bike has been transformed from a dirtbike to a Motard. Of course I did expect a huge change.

Basically, I went to the Excel wheels and Talon hubs. I kept the 14f sprocket and went from a 50r to a 40r. Huge difference!:) First gear is now usable on the street. The brakes are still stock but they will be changed son enough to something big and scary! The tires are Maxxis 120 front and 160n rear. I also put on a new chain.

Good bye RC51 and hello Motarding. I can see alot of fun ahead.

Yeah!

Hello,

I am going with a Galfer 320mm rotor but will stay with the stock caliper because I dont have the $$$.:( I also have a Galfer braided line that is in blue color.

I guess I need to do the front fender now and then some funky stickers! Hah! I love it already!

Hello,

Yes it was already plated when I bought it. The dude that first owned it put the Baja kit and a bunch of other stuff to it such as front suspension work, bars, Scott dampner, heated grips, and some gauge that I forgot the name of. But I will probably be getting rid of it as it really isnt what I will need for me type of riding.

I do want to get a different pipe and I am looking forward to installing the brakes when I can. The front fender too. Thanks Hooligan!

This bike is a blast to ride now! Maybe this weekend! I hope we can get together again at Family's so I can show off the Motard finally.
