Motard Ride this Sunday, 02AUG03

Hello,

Hooligan and I will be getting together for a quick (;) ) Motard ride this coming Sunday, 8/2/03.

I can finally try out my bike and learn to ride it right! Anyone out there want to join us? I promise not to keep you waiting too long as I ride the rear of the pack.:angel

Lets meet up so that we can ride to "Four Corners" together. How about at 900-930 at a cafe' or coffee shop. I am up in SF and Rich is in Pacifica.

Anyone interested?

we have to ride Alpine Rd.

this will be a short ride. down 84 then down Pescadero and back
up Pescadero then up Alpine Rd and back to Alice's

Looks like I'll be fixing up that oil weep with Elskipador on Sunday so I'll need to pass on this one.

Next time..... Gotta love Alpine, arguably the funnest road in the mountains :teeth

Excellant! I cant wait to scrub in the tires! I hope the rain blows through and things dry up for Sunday. Expecting my big brakes to arrive tomorrow from Moto-Connection but we will see. If I do get them I will have them mounted for the ride.

Yes, I did go with the Maxxis tires. I havnt had a real opportunity to test them out because I have not ridden enough to get them really warm. But I did on several occasions run them hard through Park Presidio Blvd in GG Park as well as through the twisties in the Presidio near the headquarters and they seemed to warm up rather fast. They got pretty gummy on the edges after that short blast. I still have a 1/2 inch of virgin rubber on the edges. But if that is any indication I think I will be wearing them out pretty quick.:teeth

I know it is alittle soon to say but I think that I will be going for a different brand next time.

I had a great time on Sunday! My first real Motard ride and it was a total blast. I never rode any of those roads as fast as I did yesterday. Alpine... Pescadero... Tunitas Creek...

Now I know what it means to break the rear tire on a hot corner. Not to mention the front wheel getting real light in many of the tight stuff too.

Thanks guys for helping me scrub in the tires. I had a great time!
