Those pics do NO justice to the carnage
Now that I look at the pics, it looks like the bike didnt quite make the turn and then lowsided in the ditch and flipped. The feelers are still on the bike and the fairing actually doesnt look that bad.
Stingray, is that what happened? I am still hazy about where you crashed because I was cooking and only saw roughly where it happened.

yep, the tires had less than 200mi. on them i probably had about 90mi. on them prior to the trackday and 68mi. on the track.
anyway i was maybe 3/4 of the distance out of the inside and went in to lean more but it slide out from under me. in retrospect, i think i felt the tires giving a split second before it actually slid out. alot of "i could have saved it if i didn't try to push even harder" feelings right now.
heh, you should see the tail fairing now after getting beat up on the trip back from all the wind. let's just say it looks like i've been doing 12-1 o clockers on it constantly. the side fairings didn't look like there was much damage on them considering. i don't think they touched pavement at all or at least only for a little bit.
it's a shame i don't have vid of it cause i was too busy tumbling myself to see what my bike was doing.

yep, that's my foot. :) still hurts esp. in the morning when i get up.

Really didn't get the whole story on the low side.
But how did you injury the leg?
Did the bike tramp it when you low sided or was tweeked when you hit the ground.
Q: Protective gear... what were you wearing and how did it fair out?

from how if felt, i think i injured my leg when i hit the pavement so either it was sandwitched btwn the bike and the road or the boot caught onto the pavement w/ enough force to crack my ankle. guess we'll never know.
my gear that day:
arai RX7 kenny roberts
dainese k 1pc suit
sidi vertebra boots
agv carbon 7 pro gloves.
the helmet has some major rash on it. the left windshield attachment broke and the mid air vent broke. i'll probably send it to arai and have them inspect it but doubtful it'll be of any use other than a junk carrier.
the suit faired well i think. no tears on the suit despite the speed. there is a part on the left forearm section that had the stiching on some costmetic leather come off but other than that, everything held up extremely well.
boots are fine from what i can tell other than some light rash on the calf slider and a little bit on the toe slider.
gloves....can't really tell any damage either but it doesn't even look like they touched the ground at all.
so basically everything is reusable except for the lid.
Dainese makes some good shit! My leathers have some stitches out also but held up very well!
So Stingray, how are you doing? Did insurance call you? Tell me whats happening. Hopefully the next event we will hold a raffle, I can rig it so you win (just dont tell anyone) Mums the word! ;)

yep, i can attest to the crashworthyness of dainese suits. just the stiching on part of the forearm ripped out (the blue patch of leather). surprisingly, no holes in the suit that i can tell. :D
i'm doing alright. ankle still hurts but getting alot better now thanks. insurance totalled the bike and doesn't allow a buy back so ken is out of luck on the track bike unless he scores a deal w/ the insurance company. :( hopefully he'll be able to get it cause i'd like to see my baby go to someone that seems like a really cool guy (just cause he also rides a gix). :D frame, forks and engine are all tops. less than 6k mi. on it.
i sent out hte paperwork today so hopefully i'll see a big fat check in the mail soon. :D too bad you sold your TLR. would have loved to have tried that out. ;)
