I want to see this DRZ now, and the list of mods! :)
It's a DRZ with the yosh kit to bore out to 440 or something?
well i dunno how coherent or legit the article is... it says the bike has a 450 yosh kit but then they say it has 16" wheels not 17s so whos to know how accurate the entire article is :nerd
pretty pics though :nerd
mcgrath's CRF..

Im pretty sure Schwantz's DRz has the 450 Yosh kit in it. He is backed by them.
I would love to kit my DRz with the Yosh 450 kit, Its pretty much the most bulletproof bigbore kit for the 'zuke:thumbup
S I C K ! ! !:loco

Jon, the Yosh 450 bore/stroke kit IS available to the public. I cant find the site I was looking for with prices and all but I did find this site. The kit was $850 or $1100, I cant remember now. Ill try to find the info for you

Ok, heres the kit
Yosh 450 kit (http://www.yoshimura-rd.com/drz450kit.asp)
interesting! looks like whole kit with the exhaust is like 2600 :o
Ya, I personally would go w/ out the pipe and revbox. The DRz is not built to rev much higher than the stock rev limiter so the revbox is not a great idea for long turm reliability. I already have a pipe so that would save $ too.
I need to spend $ on wheels if anything though, but the 450 kit is a nice thought:nerd
heres another one for you Jon..

THAT DUAL EXHAUST IS FUCKING SWEET! That alone makes me want the DRZ!

Jeeez, doesn't that dual exhaust kinda take away from the "crash and ride again" bonus of dirt bikes? :confused

Because one would not give up a DRZ for a 450.. one would only want 50 more cc:p:twofinger
I love my DRZ:thumbup

Why do you love it so much? Have you owned a KTM/Honda/etc to compare it to? Just curious.. :confused

I am in no way trying to say the DRZ400 is the best dirtbike out there, its not. There are many dirtbikes that are far better, CRF450, KTM450, KTM525 to name a few. One of my good friends has a CRF450 that I have ridden for hours so im familiar with that bike and ive ridden Pierres KTM a little so ya I have others to compare the DRZ to. The DRZ just happens to be the best bike for me right now.
I love that the power of the DRZ has no hit to it, its smooth like driving a car. I do wish it was lighter though, its around 50lbs heavier that the CRF which is alot of extra weight on a dirtbike. But with the extra weight the bike stays more planted, kinda like my old CR500 did.
The DRZ is a great trailbike/dirtbike but not the best racer. Ill be racing it at the Primetime HareScramble in Oct. for the first time since I dont have the KX250 anymore, I think the DRZ will race fine though:thumbup

Everett, the DRZ400 is good enough for Mick to win the District 36 overall class C on it... Slow guys like me that ride better bikes are just SPOILED!!! ;) :teeth

Hehe.. well I'm seriously thinking about the XR400.
It's just cheaper than the CR450F and it runs in a class that isn't QUITE as competitive if I decide to race it.
I can find a 97 for about $2500, and spend another $1500 and have it at setup for the basic motard platform.
Stockton is SO close, I can't see why I shouldn't go that route instead of AFM/CCS street bike racing. Not to mention motard looks more fun. :)
ev didnt you buy the kawi for the track and racing? :)
dont forget to get your supermoto usa license as well for racing at stockton.

Yes, maybe I'll dabble in both.. :)
I called on the XR400 to be added to my insurance, it's $6 more to get liability on it. Haha..

Hey, I just realized that suzuki G1k in the background of Kevin Scwantz's motard, is Aaron Yates bike after he crashed as a wild card in the WSBK races at Laguna. :)
