Can anyone spare about an hour this evening around 6:00 to help me out fixing someones computer? I can pay you if nessessery.
The story,
I installed Eudora on a tower. Now at boot up I get "The blue screen of death." The PC goes through standard boot up. Box comes up asking for password ok. After that it comes up with three faults:
navapw32
msgsrv32
mpr.exe
I've been told that these are files that are missing. Oh ya, it's Windows 95. I have the 95 CD but not the floppy boot disk. I've been told I can either find these files and copy them to the correct directory in DOS or re-install Windows. I'm affraid if I re-install Windows he might lose some info on his hard drive. Is this true?
Basically, I'm in way over my head and if someone could fix it I would greatly apreciate it. I just don't want him to lose any info.
Ask me if you need more info.

Hell YES he'll lose info if you reinstall. If it weren't for the fact that 6:00 PM is too early for me to help you I'd be there.
Although you can replace those particular files and be okay, I'll bet it has more to do with a DLL that they use (and that Eudora replaced when you installed).
Anyway, here's how to locate those particular files from DOS...
C:\>dir /s nava*.*
From there I'd have to be present to continue. Feel free to post more as necessary if you are unable to locate a consultant. If you can wait until later (or this weekend) perhaps I can go onsite w/ you.

Is there a better time for you? I can meet you any time tonight. That's just the time I told him. Or I can see about setting up time on Sat afternoon or on Sunday. As I said, I can pay you for your time. Should cover replacing the rear axle nut on the 6E. :laughing

Actually I didn't do it. He had one of his employees spouces who works at Adobe come over and do it. I told you, I know crap about PC's. I'm a Mac man. Now Word and Excel on PC I'm a wiz at but when it comes down to crappy little basics like that... I have now clue.:(
