I just got an update today that Cycle Gear Home Office is going to send San Jose CG 30 sets of Dunlop's D207RRs for the Nov. 1 BBQ. ONLY $139 for the set!!! :wow

You will have to pay Glenn (Spec1) for a mount and balance.

Please let me know what sizes will be needed and if 30 sets will be enough to satisfy your needs.

Yana: if you want to stockpile these for your customers that is fine too. ;)

Scotty

**************
UPDATE:
For those that have written their request for tires, I will tag the requested sets and place them to the side until 3pm. At which time, if supply is running low, they become fair game for others to purchase.

If you want to reserve a set of the Dunlop 207s, please PM me to be included.

Here is the list as it currently stands:

LNSPLTRS: 1- 180/55 x 17 ; 2-190/50 x17

Yeah, same goes for me. Can I order more than one set but not have to have them mounted and balanced?

I don't believe they make the RR in 120/60/17 fronts so i'd have to go for:

120/70/17 and 180/55/17s

and do we get 10% off the $139?? :teeth

I'll take 2 sets, 180 and 120. I don't want to have to take them with me that day, though (but I'll pay for 'em), as I was planning to ride. I've got to visit the Scuderia open house that day, too.

Unless someone is driving a cage from SF. It would be way cool not to have to drive all the way to San Jose to pick 'em up.

If you go to:
http://www.motorcycle-superstore.com/item.aspx?style=4188&department=647&Division=6

They want $135 just from the front.

And:
http://www.motorcycle-superstore.com/item.aspx?style=4189&department=647&Division=6

at least $174. for the rear.

Even at: http://www.motorcyclemart.com/tires/dunlop/d207rr.htm

D207RR front 120/70ZR17

D207RR rear 180/55ZR17 190/50ZR17 TL

you are looking at over $250 for a pair.

To answer your question, the $139 includes all discounts.;)

summitdog

From looking around at what the on-line tire services have to offer in the D207RRs, Dunlop may mave limited the production of sizes to:

D207RR front
120/70ZR17

D207RR rear
180/55ZR17
190/50ZR17

I will check with Home Office tomorrow and give you all an update regarding the sizing available.

You can purchase as many sets as you wish. Mount and balance is not required. It is a service offered by Spec 1.

I don't believe they make the 207rr in a 160 or a 200 mm width tire.

Only 180 and 190. Go to www.dunluptire.com for more info.

and the 10% discount was just worth a shot!!!! Can't blame a man for trying :)

It is a one day sale with no carry overs. Cycle Gear is taking a "hit" on the price for this one day. Try to get one of your buddies to get you a set or two.

You'd want the 120/70 and the 180/55

You'll need to raise your forks and probally modify your fender for the front tire.

207RR's have more tread than the GP's but not as sticky but should be sticky enough for mr. putt putt. aggressive street/intermediate tire. they're street tires so they should hold up better to heat cycling and normal street use if that's your intent.

they should be at least as sticky as the M1's if not moreso. it'd probably be more along the lines of the diablo corsas or the BT012SS

To address your concerns regarding who gets what, for those that think they will buy more than 2-3 sets please call me at the shop (408-288-5051) so I will have enough on hand.

If someone wants to buy 30 sets that will be fine. We will have at least 50 sets on hand. I can "pre-order" more if I believe there will be a need.

As far as mounting is concerned, as long as the tires still have their "Cycle Gear" band on them and you have a receipt, any CG store should honor the mounting price.

Say, just how good are these tires anyway. I know it's cheap but how do they rate against M1's or BT010's which seem to be the tires I keep hearing about. I want something that's going to last me a while and be sticky enough so that I don't get freaked out doing the twisties.

Unfortunately I already have the tires tagged and out on the floor. We were a little cramped to keep them all in one spot. We also received 100 sets of tires (not the D207RRs) from our Redwood City shop b/c they are in the middle of remodelling.
