I've got an 88 Jeep wrangler for sale.

200K on the ODO but I rebuilt everything (engine, tranny, clutch, carbs and transfer case at 150K so there are 50K on everything.

It's not pretty and it passed smog last year (registered in Nov. Current registration lasts until nov of 04)
Only asking $1500 OBO...

I want this thing gone since my gf and I just bough a newish car.

Don't be shy...I'm flexible

Rob

EDIT: forgot to add....hard top and hard doors, also have bikini top, tonneau cover and wind jammer....full sized spare (the size of all the other tires) Will post pics.

Manual trans? Do you know if the tranny on yours is the same or compatible with the TJ?

Yup maual.

Sorry steve, I don't know...however I would guess that no much is transferrable (or the same) from the YJ to the TJ.

I'll make some calls. The trans on my '99 is shot and I'm about to pay close to the same amount for a remove/rebuild/replace. I could buy yours, swap trannies w/ some friends, and give yours away to charity for the same price. Everyone wins... you, me, missing children!

I don't think the swap could be done. The 88 uses a ax-5 or the crappy Peugot ba 10/5.
The newer jeeps use the Ax15.
If you need to research it - try Offroad.com or put a want add on the Pirate board ( pirate4x4.com ) .
Those hard core guys are always swapping out their trans to put in heavy duty stuff.

BTW -ROB your pics are of an Audi. Show me some jeep pics. I may be interested
Thx

How does it run and is the interior in good shape.

Rob

KATO: Runs well... Needes a little work but mostly body work. Interior is ...dirty.

NEW SALE IDEA:

1500 for a rebuilt drivetrain...(IMO the drivetrain is worth this alone) plus hardtop (1500 NEW!) and soft top and 5 perfectly good tires (4 plus spare)

Anyone want ot buy a hard top? 500 OBO. Tires for a jeep? 200 for all five. If I part out the jeep it'll be donated to the local charity...which ever one my gf chooses.
