CHANGED DATE!! BASHH "Ride-to-the-Kids", Charity Group Ride (Sunday JAN 4th!)
IMPORTANT NOTICE EVERYONE!!! (Saturday, Jan. 3rd)
I'm really sorry to have to report that as of this afternoon (Saturday, Jan 3rd), I just got a call from Tina, the Director of the "Ronald McDonald House" facility, with some very disappointing news!
She called at the eleventh hour (so-to-speak) to let me know that due to unforeseen delays in getting the families relocated and settled at their newly reopened facility, she is so apologetic, but they will *not* be able to host our "Ride-to-the-Kids" group ride/pizza party event at the previously scheduled Sunday, Jan 4th date (tomorrow)! She is now looking at a date that is a few weeks down the road (around the end of January), for penciling in as a follow-up rescheduled date.
I'm so sorry to have to give all of you good folks that have been so supporting of this BASHH event from the beginning, repeated reschedule notices like this ..... but unfortunately the circumstances are totally out of my control. I believe in sticking to commitments, and apologize greatly to everyone that may have been inconvenienced in any way by these unexpected forced reschedulings. we have not been able to make this ride event happen yet.
I'll get the word out as soon as I know for sure the date that the Ronald McDonald House folks are able to commit for this event.

ORIGINAL ANNOUNCEMENT:
Date: Sunday, JANUARY 4th! (2004)
Well the annual B.A.S.H.H. (Bay Area Sportbikers Helping Hands) Suspension Clinic/X-Mas Toy Drive/Raffle, held two weeks ago at Helimots in San Jose, was a big success. The two huge boxes of awesome new toys that were donated, by all of you generous local riders, have already been delivered to the Ronald McDonald House facility, for distribution to the eagerly awaiting kids (at the extended medical care housing faciliity) on Christmas morning.
The second phase of the post fund raising event activities will be taking place the first Sunday of 2004 (JAN 4th!), with a "Group Ride" being organized to head on up to the Ronald McDonald House facility, (located off Sand Hill Rd). The mission of the ride will be to get a chance to meet the kids in person, give them a chance for a repeat performance of having an opportunity to swing a leg over a sea of colorful motorcycles, and present the Administrator of the facility with a donation check from BASHH, in the amount of an amazing $6,000!
As a way to say "Thank You", the staff at the Ronald McDonald House facility have arranged a two hour (11:30AM-1:30PM), fun-filled pizza lunch (they're providing the pizzas for all) and get-together for the kids that are living at the faciliity, their families, and all of the riders that were part of the BASHH toy drive and fund raising effort this year, and wish to come out to participate in Sunday's event.
The kids still haven't stopped talking about how much fun they'd had several years ago, when we'd done one of these group rides up there on our bikes at Christmas time, and let the kids do a picture taking session while having a chance to climb aboard and sit on any/all of the flasy sportbikes that the riders had rode to the event. The same plan will be taking place this Sunday.

I welcome all the generous riders that came down and actively supported the BASHH event at Helimots this year, to come out on your bikes and meet up at Helimots, to join in the celebration of the success of your efforts! Please arrive early, so that we can get everyone saddled up and on the road by just after the 10:00AM target departure time.
I look forward to seeing a rainbow of different colored bikes lined up in the parking lot on January 4th, to enjoy a fun and satisfying day of motorcycle activities in supporting the local community.
