My girlfriend and I go touring in and around the Bay Area quite a bit and thought it would be fun to grab a few more folks to make it even more fun.

We're planning a 2 day, 1 night trip for sometime in mid-February and would like to ride with maybe 3 or 4 other bikes (you can be single or ride 2 up). We'll plan a nice twisty and scenic route, reserve a nice place to stay (probably a B&B type place for about $150-$200 for the night) and coordinate. I was thinking about riding up to Mendocino or that area and back...

We're in our late 20s/early 30s, both professionals and I would consider myself an advanced rider (although not a racer). Been riding for about 15 years, been to track school, etc... Looking for folks who like to ride quick but not dangerously and we're looking for folks who are fun to hang out and who love sport touring! I ride a Ducati ST4. I live in San Francisco (South Beach).

Post here or send me a personal message if you're interested! Thanks!

Updated Information:

So the preliminary plans are as follows:

Dates: Saturday, February 21 and Sunday, February 22

Start Point: South Beach in San Francisco (right by Pac Bell Park)

Lodging: Some place nice - maybe Mendocino?

I guess we have to thinking whether it's realistic to get that far north in a day and back considering we're going to be 2-up. Will that be too uncomfortable for the passengers? What do you guys think? If so, we can always find a B&B that's further south.

Also, any ideas for a B&B?
Eric

Riders
1) Peetie2 (me) & GF
2) DmCTriumpth & wife
3) Nelson (assuming he can stand a nice place to shower and eat) :)
4) FlynnBMW & SO

I think I would be up for a ride and overnighter. It would be a good test ride for the wife. Not to far and a nice dinner after the ride. Keep me posted as to when you'd like to go. We could ride up the coast and maybe hit Skaggs for a little fun.

I am doing a solo ride to SoCal http://bayarearidersforum.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=55720 in early to mid-February but I might be up for yours if I flake out of mine. Just keep posting whenever you are getting closer to the date.

The only thing I'd have a problem with would be the 150-200$ Bed and Breakfast!!!!!!!!

I'll definitely keep you guys up to date. About the B&B, it's part of the deal when I ride with the girlfriend. I get to ride the bike, but she wants to stay in a nice and charming place. LOL. I suspect alot of us guys are in the same boat :)

I agree Eric, that is about the only way I'd get the wife on the back:cool

Yes, keep us informed. If it fits our schedule (and budget) my "significant other" and I would be interested in joining in.

Looks like we have a group!

I'll keep up dating information in the first message of this thread.

I need ideas on specifics and routes that you guys want to take. If I don't get any suggestions, I'll look it up on Pashnit to see if I can't figure something out :)

Here are some ideas on accomodations:

Maybe in the summer:green
We've stayed at the albion river Inn and it was fine.
The food is good and the parking is close.
I would stay there again. The ladies could stay at the Inn chillin while the riders tore up Skaggs:p
Just a thought.
:angel

We might be able to swing a discount for a group. This is the slow season.

Albion River Inn sounds awesome. Let's see how many folks we can get and I'll try to negotiate a group rate. The place sounds awesome. I think my GF would love it.

Hey FlynBMW, are you in?

Eric "Peetie2",

I do not think that those dates will work for Jean and I. We will be in NM the weekend before and it would be hard for us to make it. Sorry about that. Thanks for keeping us in mind.

Riding up and back from SF should be no big deal. We will usually stay for two nights when we go that far north, but we are coming from farther south.

Maybe next ride...

Eric,

except for the $100 B&B - I am in (:. I would rather camp out in a car camp or something & cheap it out...

Sounds like fun, but unfortunately the GF is currently 4 months pregnant, and we'll be out of town up in Seattle for the time period your planning for... so two strikes against our going ;)

Have a great trip though, and keep warm!
