Need a tune up on your motorcycle or car, and don't wanna pay a ton of $$$ for sometimes quick and sloppy work that you'd receive at a local repair shop? Want to learn how to do it yourself, or just don't wanna get your hands dirty!? Well look no further !!!!
I have my own tools, I can work on motorcycles and cars. I know how to do all maintenance/tune up stuff such as....
spark plugs + wires
coolant change
chain replacement and adjust
sprocket and/or chain replacement
carburetor cleaning and sync
air filter change
oil/filter change
brake fluid change
change brake pads/rotors
cable lubing
adjustment throttle, clutch, etc.
swapping in a new radiator
adding switches to turn off/on components
installing stereo heads, speakers, amps and subs (cars only)
installing short shifter kits (cars only)
tyre rotation (cars only...DUH)
theres a lot more stuff that I can do but no need to list it all - just feel free to ask!
I am also very good with fender restoration through bondo work, and fiberglass methods. Check out my work at:
http://www.bayarearidersforum.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=61594&highlight=YSR50
My limitations are that I don't know wiring beyond the basics; can usually get a broken light or something to work, but rewiring an entire bike/car I can not do....Because of a lack of tools, I am usually not able to go as deep into a bike as to adjust valves, or change motorcycle fork oil. While I am not as knowledgeable as the all-mighty Shawn (elskipador), I am more than competent in the tune up stuff that I focus on providing.
$25/hour while I'm on your bike + fuel/driving (depending on location)
if you come to my place, just just straight up $25/hour while I'm on your bike
PM me if interested, or email:

I would like to fully recommend Charlie. He came to my house and did an extensive tune-up of my motorcycle (a '91 Eliminator 250) that had been unused during winter. The bike would not start, but Charlie cleaned out the carbs and the bike started up immediately. If your looking for a great alternative to expensive shops, or if you want to see how a tune up is done, Charlie is your man! He was on time and his fees are reasonable.

i dont paint cars....... in fact i'm now even not doing painting anymore. i'll still do fender restoration (bondo and fiberglass), but no painting. this is simply due to that i dont have the right supplies or a good area to make painting possible.

Speedy did a great job on my '85 rebel. He works fast, accurately diagnosed problems with the bike and passed on some really helpful tips. He checked out the brake pads (even the drum brake), adjusted the chain, bled the brakes, changed the brake fluid and adjusted the choke. Everything was fixable in an hour and a half or so.
He also looked at my 650 nighthawk and helped identify a serious problem with it. I'll probably be taking it in to a shop for repair and replacecment but it's good to know what's wrong.
PS. He asked me to say he was "semi-cool". That's true enough. Honestly though, hire Speedy. He's upfront about what he knows and what he doesn't. The honesty is refreshing.

Speedy did a great job on my bike yesterday. I have a 1983 Nighthawk that was in need of some love. Brake fluid change, clutch fluid change, brake adjustment, carb check, a ton of annoying little electic work and just a good check to make sure the bike was safe. He taught mea bunch along the way and was incredibly reasonable with his pricing. Highly recommend!!!!

dopestick: yeah i can fix that up for you. throw me and email SpeedyCorky@gmail.com if you can, send pics of the damage and i'll let u know if its worth fixing or if you are better off buying a new peice. and i dont do paint BTW. i can fix it to paintable condition but u or someone else has to paint it cuz i dont have the supplies and a place to actually spray it.
yeah i'm doing the mechanic thing more now a days; so bring on the jobs ! :teeth

SpeedCorky came out to work on my bike for me a few days ago, and I gotta say, he did a great job.
Everything was done quickly and well, and he helped me figure out a lot of the random crap that the previous owner had done to the bike.
+1 for SpeedyCorky, even if he did spill gas all over the place. :D

PM sent to SpeedyCorky a few weeks ago @ estimate for brake replacement & general tune-up for my 84 Honda CB700SC Nighthawk S. Have not heard back yet.?
Bike is running good now :thumbup, just needs its well-worn brakes & perhaps front fork seal replaced, and could likely use a general tune up even though nothing is significantly wrong with it now.
Even if not comfortable working on all aspects, if some aspects are doable that could be fine too.

thought i mailed u back stating i dont work on the older, cruiser-sport type motorcycles?
anyways, its because the type with carb on the rear of the motor and airbox behind that - makes getting the carb in and out a headache.
ocean
03-24-2008, 02:12 AM
Thanks for the reply Speedy.
Not interested in having the carbs taken apart or dealt with at this time. Just simple brake replacements and perhaps front fork seal replacement for now.
Sometime in next month or so.? Wondering what you would charge for that?

Hi Speedy...
Just a straightforward brake replacement. Brake pads are getting really low, taking long time to stop. Another avid nighthawk owner who test rode my bike a few months ago said they were really worn down and need replacing fairly soon.
You dont do fork seals from what I remember, so just brakes would be great for now.?
Estimate? Im in El Cerrito.
