Grips?

what kinda' grips you like? the stock ones kinda' hard and numbing on my bike and I always try to keep loose grip. took off the metal bar ends for plastic sliders so that might be contributing factor.

what's good? foamies? gels?

These are what I have, on the same bike no less. The only thing I don't like is the purple one get dirty easy.

it seams like the MX boys have the best selection, all you need to do is cut the ends to accomadate (sp) the bar ends & your set

I like either stock or gels. I tried foams ONCE, never again because I always involuntarily ended up squeezing too hard and cramping my hands.

Not to sound like an ass, but, in 18 years of riding I have never used anything or than what came on the bike and I have never even noticed the grips. Does it realy make a difference?

same here that what I want to know. I put foamies on my first bike (the RD) and it cut down vibs alot but grips were thick. never changed any other ones. these new gel grips sound interesting but I heard they get yucky after awhile.

the main problem I have is reach to the clutch and my hand is getting sore between the thumb and forefinger with all the city driving. so I'd put more emphasis on finding better levers. don't recall this being such a prob on the 6D but can't recall if it had a adj. clutch lever (?)

current 6R miles might be low but represents a lot of time in traffic and more to come!

if it don't rain that is. always loved rain riding before but trying to change my ways= no rain & stop clandestine runs. a statistics thing :D .

Check out these Pro Grips. They arent squishy. Renthal makes similar grips as well I think with slots for safety wire...pretty cool.
Ive been using these ever since I found them after trying all that gel crap.

I have the Pro-Grip superbike GEL grips on my bikes and they're great. I think that I feel less vibration than the stock ones. I have used them on my past 4 sportbikes with good results.

It also depends what bike you are talking about, honda and kawasaki are in less need for a better hand grip as they somehow install a better hand grips and foot pegs than the competion (yamaha, suziki, ducati, etc) as they are 'less' sporty.
I rather have comfort when riding as the vibrations make my hands go numb after a while. It may not be as sporty but I sure can help me ride longer that way.

IF you have an air compressor and a tool to blow air, you might be able to get the nozzle under the grip, shoot some air in and then it should make it easier to remove the grip......just a thought.

I got some of those heated grips inserts, I twisted the grips off, put some water in the grips to get them off or you can spit in them. You can also try a long flathead scewdriver to pry it off. Taking it off is the easy part, putting it back on is the hard part.

To take the grips off use heat and a sharp knive

To put grips on use Isopropyl Alchohol (not the kind you drink)
