View Full Version : Hiring: Data Center Engineer II
My work is going to be hiring a couple of mid-level Data Center Engineers (Sys Admin) for 2nd & 3rd shifts. From what I've heard, A+/Net+ is the main requirement.

Mostly Windows, some basic Linux. Building servers, troubleshooting, OS reinstalls, hardware upgrades, reboots, etc.

Damn, I knew I should've taken the A+ test. Oh, well. Do you think they'd be willing to hire and let me take the A+ test after?
I have no idea. I just heard that they were filtering the resumes by who had A+/Net+ and who didn't.
But I've been a level 1 there for 3 years now and those bastards won't move me up to level 2. I've even got my CCNA. They're also hiring a night shift "supervisor". Some shit. I've been working night shift by myself for the past three years. Why they hell do I need a supervisor there to sit around while I do all the actual work? If anything make me the damn supervisor. I'm gonna be the one training whoever they hire anyway. Buncha cheap ass bastards.
They skimped out on my annual bonus (dept made 149% of their goal), I got about 1/4 what I should have gotten. My performance raise was a joke, something like $800 a year more. I'll be lucky to see an extra $2 a month from that. Don't work here if you want to get rich. :mad
