MOBILE WELDER
TIG MASTER
I will not be attending the AMA event this year. I don't see it being profitable for my business to set up for 5 days. I scheduled
my regular customers for that week instead. This may seem selfish but it is all a mater of gain and loss. I have a lot of repair boat work to do a mile from my shop. I will come out as a service call is needed. It is not cheep. 2hrs minumum and 2 hrs drive time.
I just don't like the Idea of sitting and waiting for a mishap to happen and then go into action. I would rather do the local races where the riders know my service. Every one knows who I am. Maladin only comes a few times a year. With no retainer or show up money to offset the cost of operating and time lost for a current job that is a profitable asset.
I talked to several welders that I deal with asked them on there opion. If the tow truck drivers and ambulance workers are paid for being there. GIVING THE WELDER A FEE FOR THERE SERVICE would work. I would do all the welding work that is needed. At no charge as my services would be paid for in advanced. That loose hanging ferring stay could get looked at. I would work my ass off, what is the difference as last year at Thunderhill and Sears I worked far beyound bed time to put a bike back on track. I couldn't believe it my self some of the stuff I repaired.
I told them this would never happen. $20.00 a rider would cover them for the whole weekend. On there repairs.
The midget racing circuit does this and it works.
I like that. every one wins. If it gets rained out then safety repaires would come into play.
Formula one cars has this same service.
Nascar has a simular one. They bill the teams at the end of the race for all repairs done.
Off shore racers higher a repair boat to keep them afloat.
Thia is only a thought.
This is the nationals AMA PRO telivised
I was wondering what your thoughts ae about this.
I have some ones wrench and need to get it back to them before the nationals. Pm me
Am I asking too much As I have deadicated a lot of time making sure you the racer can keep riding. I ensure that I bring several types of material to the track and keep my knowledge updated.
I know a few didn't like my $50.oo price for welding even a tack in place. I know the guy in oakland can do it cheeper but he didn't drag his shop out to the track. For that guy. Don't get mad find some one else in the pits who needs a repair I would do both for $50.oo Lowering my price to a shop is out of the question. I only did four jobs on Saturday. I an not complaining it was slow. I will be back in may to assist again.
For the guy who thought I said $15.oo for a titanium hangar and handed me $15 DOLLARS. Look at it this way If I find it not feasable to continue this service. I will still come out to the track and just watch. I like the sport. You may of gotten one over on me ok cool one for you. Now I need to check and be a cop too.
One rider handed me several Exhaust systems components to use as fillins. Not for himself but for all of you, He needed nothing welded.
Thats way cool I only charge for the time not for the added pipe as one of you brothers thought it would cut my time down on fabbing up some insert. Good thinking.
I am not angry just pointing out some things. Loosing the welding service would mean I go some where else to repair machines. OF SOME SORT.
The SCCA SCREWED UP WITH me I don't do there races any more.
I think I said enough. Hay AFMERS don't worry I am not goin any where. Sit back and enjoy my company. I only want to help.
Put your coments here I would like to know what you think.
