I'm getting this error everytime my pc starts up:
"One of the files containing the system's Registry data had to be recovered by use of a log or
alternate copy. The recovery was successful"

I'm using WinXP SP1a, this started about a week ago. Log-in screen, it pops up, then I log in, another pop's up.

I searched the web, but came up empty handed. Anyone of ya have this or seen it?

found some ideas for you:
http://www.annoyances.org/exec/forum/winxp/t1048048020
http://www.experts-exchange.com/Operating_Systems/Q_21107299.html

Check both out as there are a few different possibilities. First thing you should try is:

Try the windows system file checker:

Start => Run => type "SFC /scannow" (without the quotes) and press enter.
Keep your windows cd-rom nearby.

There are also notable mentions of possibly bad RAM or video card. Hope this at least gives you some point of reference

I used TuneUp 2004 (download.com) and used the TuneUp Registry, and it fixed the problem.
