At the moment, as far as we can tell, we really did have only a 24-hour window to order these critters. That would suggest that most dealers probably did not ask for too many, so they will be in short supply unless Aprilia gives us a second chance. Contact your local dealer immediately if you seriously want one, or there won't be any available.

Some of you guys need to drop the paranoia - we're not playing games here, we really don't have much to go on with the little information we're getting from Aprilia. Even after talking with our DSM, we don't know if the order opportunity has passed. Here is his latest email, for what it's worth:

Here is some additional information on the RS125

The plan is to have a 17 digit VIN# with the 3 or C in the 8th digit. The bike should still have the lights, mirrors, horn and stuff on it but not the plate holder or rear turn signals, it looks better without these parts and they are not necessary for a track day bike. We only plan to bring in the replica color scheme and the engine will be special for the USA since it will not be homologated we get the MOST POWERFUL PRODUCTION RS125 IN THE WORLD!!! Actually it is the 17KW version with a race pipe and proper jetting. These are the newest version of the Rotax engine with the electronic controls on the carburetor.

We sent him an email asking for a final order date. If we get any more info we'll post it.

I got to ride both, a stock and a De-restricted versions of this bike on the track about 6 weeks ago and they were so much fun, the de-restricted one of course was great! 110mph with 30 horse power was a lot of fun

Well, the Aprilia DSM said today, 5/29, is the last day for dealers to post orders to him. We have one presold to one of you guys, and we're going to ask for one more.

Note, the only info we have right now is MSRP - we don't know our cost yet, freight charges from Italy, anything else, so we don't know what final prices will be like, or specific delivery dates.

Stopped by my local Aprilia dealer on the way home from work. Yup, everything is true including the cut off point, yesterday the 29th. :(

BUT! My dealer ordered more than 2 ............................ :teeth

I'm getting mine! :banana

I'm gonna put race bodywork on it and run it in Flll next year.
