With it being sunny and all, I decided to go for a bicycle ride today.
Streets were quiet. Too quiet.

stopped off at the former Los Gatos Auto Mall, now run by siliconvalleyautogroup.com.
They still have a Veyron. I think this is the same one that's been there for a year.
The funny-shaped thing with the dimples is the muffler.

sign of the times, I guess. Appears to be a buyer's market. It sure ain't a seller's market, as the Lambo dealership on Santa Cruz is now closed, as is the Bentley dealership across from what used to be Los Gatos Ferrari (now also owned by siliconval..yadayada). When I got to that location, they also had a Veyron!

and not all of the cool cars were caged up. While riding, I found these two across the street from each other, a '57 two-door 210 wagon, and a '70 Z28.

So that was my trip outside for the day. There's worse places to be unemployed than here. And for anyone who thought this thread was going to have pictures of cats, here's an Abyssinian stalking someone's front yard.

I thought all the Z-28's had split front bumpers?

I thought the split bumper was RS-specific (and if you ordered both RS and Z28, the car was badged as a Z28, not a Rally Sport).

Yeah RS specific. You could even have the 6 cylinder under the hood, and still have the split bumper. Just as long as the rally sport option was checked off.

Noted. Thanks.

Wait - so the thing that looks like one of those mats you put in the tub to keep from slipping is the muffler?

What the hell?

yep. I can only guess that it's weird, dogleg, shape was because the exhaust engineer showed up late to the design meeting, saying "I need 14 liters of volume....", and he had to fit it into whatever was left over. The front, lower piece is big, like a muffler, but the higher piece is a small appendix.

out again on the pushbike yesterday with the camera.

The Carrera GT and two Veyrons had been shuffled between the two sites, but these two are new: a Vector M12 and a Lambo Reventon. The Reventon did look fighter-jet cool, but the satin/pearly paint didn't do it for me up close. On the Vector, note that the upper side windows are fixed, and the little slit below the beltline rolls down. Supercars must be a bitch at the toll booth.

and in an "only in Los Gatos" moment, I found this sign. They were out of scones when I got there, but they did have homemade trail mix. I have a real soft spot for neighborhood lemonade stands, but this one disappointed by having a paper half gallon out there on the curbside table.
