We found a kitten Thursday evening and there's no way we can keep it due to already having 2 cats and 2 dogs, so I'm hoping someone here might be interested it taking it. It's a little black female, guessing somewhere around 12 weeks old, just under 3 pounds. Very sweet and playful and knows how to use a litter box. If you are interested, I live in Salinas and you can either come here or I can meet you halfway.

we were at the shelter yesterday and they said they were having a real hard time adopting out balck kittens, so they were basically waiving the adoption fee on them.

Hope this little one finds a good home

Unfortunately that's always the case.

The black ones usually get put down because people are fucking retarded.

ill see if my mom wants to take on another cat. she is kinda a crazy cat lady. she has 3 but one is a crazy recluse so its like she only has 2.

Three isn't close to being a crazy cat lady. You have to go past seven for that.
 
well the craziness to amount of cats correlate at an exponential rate.
2-1 is sane
3 is abnormal
4 is excessive
5 is obsessive
6 is crazy
7 and up is crazy cat lady or valgar.

As soon as possible really. The shelter is closed today, so we can't take her til tomorrow at the earliest. We may hold onto her for another couple days to try to find her a good home, but we can't hold her indefinitely. I'm thinking by Wednesday or Thursday we'll be taking her in. And we really don't want to, because then it's a crap shoot whether she'll be adopted or put down, and we certainly don't want to see this sweetie have too short of a life. We would keep her in a heartbeat if we could, but we just can't.

I wish we could, but we just adopted a three year old girl after the loss of our beloved Ozzy Kat in January, so we are back at three now who need to be fed, and one in a box on the coffee table :cry

I love black kitty kats, Mr Sooty is all black, Ozzy Kat was all black (save his big silver mane), Tiddler is smokey grey, and the new girl, Honey Bee (now known as Honey BeeBeeQ) is all black too

Dunno what people have against black kats :dunno

I wasn't kidding with the previous post.

Plenty of people are superstitious and won't adopt a black cat. Or people think they're ugly, or they all want a tiny 6-8 week kitten.

They are the least likely to make out of the shelter.

If you have to, you have to, but find a rescue or no-kill, thanks!
