Are you sick & tired of seeing North Face jackets all over the face of the Earth?

I'm wearing one as we speak (Xmas gift), but yeah, do kind of get sick of EVERYONE else wearing the same thing.

I went out with 2 friends last night, all 3 of us in North Face outerwear (not coordinated)...

North Face does not have lifetime warranty on newer products that it used to offer.

No. My self esteem and sense of individuality aren't defined by my clothing. Everyone can wear the same brand as me.

*shrug* I have a North Face backpack, great bag. Not quite as tough as the NF bag I had previously, but nicer.

They make great stuff. I've wished I had a NF jacket since I was about 13, pretty much because of that previous backpack.

I totally understand the frustration with wearing adventure gear like designer clothing, but even though I'm not trekking a frozen mountain the weather I ride through calls for a bit more than a light windbreaker and Jansport pos bag :dunno

theyre just wearing NF fleeces and shit. it isnt like they are out rocking a himalayan down suit, with gators over their boots and two layer gloves where the pinky and ring finer and one piece. theyre wearing stuff thats for casual lifestyle anyway.

its like wearing an astars shirt.

Hi, I’m James (”Jimmy”) Winkelmann, Jr. and I’m a college freshman at University of Missouri in Columbia. In an effort to assist my parents in paying for my college education during particularly trying financial times, I created The South Butt, LLC. Little did I know what I was getting myself into!

Have you checked out a latest fashion trend?

I personally try not to wear anything that has words on it.

north face was poser-wear 4 years ago and even 10 years ago.

CliffClavin: The North Face is owned by VF Corporation that sells clothes and accessories under various brands.

http://wiki.answers.com/Q/What_is_the_ticker_symbol_for_The_North_Face

No, Cliff Clavin would have also told everyone that the North Face actually almost went bankrupt and was sold to VF for near nothing just before they went into Chapter 11. An interesting tangent is that many of the management team that ran North Face into the ground then went on to purchase another iconic brand that had fallen on hard times, revitalized it and made a small fortune selling it. Guess which one.

with today's ghey looking "slim fit" for men, it's hard to find a relaxed casual fitting clothes...not a big fan of brands but north face or timberland seems to be the few brands that have normal fitting clothes...

Five years ago I bought a windproof North Face fleece jacket with hood to wear under my sailing outer jacket. We were delivering a sailboat to Long Beach and since it was early December, I wanted wind protection from the chill of the Pacific Ocean. Anyway the skipper and the new owner didn't anticipate a winter storm blowing on us. And neither did I. But when it comes to sailing on the ocean, you gotta be prepared.

And boy, did we get hit by a storm! lol During the midnight to 6 a.m. watch I ended up getting soaked through and through two nights in a row. If it wasn't for that NF jacket, plus my thermals, I'd have ended up like the rest of the crew, shaking from the cold. For some reason they were wearing mostly cotton clothing.

Yeah, NF is ubiquitous, which is why I like LL Bean. Quality stuff, reasonably priced, and not worn by every twit this side of the Marina... :twofinger

I'm a big NF fan. I grew up in the Carpathian mountains and outdoor stuff was just what I grew up doing. Hiking and climbing was an every weekend activity.
Except I was dirt poor and I did it all on my normal street wear drooling over catalogs from Germany with sweet outdoor/hiking gear.
First thing I bought from my very first paycheck in US was a pair of Timberland hiking boots. Had them for years.
Now I'm too damn busy and fat for real outdoor stuff but I can afford the nice gear. :cool
Btw if NF is not making you feel special enough http://www.arcteryx.com/?EN :wow
They have a place in Berkley.

I finally broke down and bought a North Fuckface Windwall jacket a coupla years ago. Hate to admit it, but it's seriously useful gear for wind, cold, backpacking, hiking, and as a wind/waterproof layer beneath a moto jacket.

I'm not a special snowflake, boo hoo.

Except in Boston, everyone's hating on LL Bean and talking up their North Face gear. :twofinger

Well I get 50% off all north face products so No its cheaper than Marmot and better quality than HH:cool so it does not bother me, up here its all about HH and Marmot, down in the bay it was NF,

and NO I dont share my discount so dont ask. :twofinger
