*I didn't take any of these pictures*
The little 6-7 man group that ended up riding together this weekend were not fast morning movers. We ended up starting the day at around noon Sat and Sunday... and rode till dark. Hence why you didn't see us at all.
Here are some pictures of our adventures.
Friday/Saturday:
Myself on Rafael's VFR:
And of course... This...
After getting beers late Friday night, Alex's 690 wouldn't start. We tried bumping it for 20 mins, damn slipper clutch. Then we had the great idea of towing it back all the way over the hill and to the hotel with RokStraps (Thanks Dan!)
But we had all 2'uped over to the restaurant (being responsible adults) So we would have to 2up tow back to the hotel, logically.
I hopped on the Buell with my buddy Nick on the back, he held the tow rope. Then on the 690 it was Alex and my brother. Well the Buell is a horrible tow rig.. Far too jerky at idle and low speeds.
Well, it just so happened that we had pulled right in front of the local CHP station! And out comes Night Shift CHP, I waddled over to him, asked if it was ok if we towed Alex with the ST1300 back to the hotel.
"Oh sure, I'll give you an escort!"
:rolf
So here we are... Nick is sitting on the back of the ST1300, backwards, guiding the tow rope. Alex is steering his 690, and my brother is holding on to the tow rope riding pillion. All with a CHP escort, lights and sirens through down town Quincy.
Sunday we again got up around 10am-left around noon or so.
Rode all over, ended up back on Knoxville berryessa. But we decided it was a bright idea to ride some of the OHV Jeep trails! Wooopie!!! Boy was it fun. Then I realized that 2/5 riders had never really dont any off roading. Ever.
So we had a bit of an "incident"
*hole punctured in clutch cover*
So we ductaped the shit out of that hole and refilled the oil. Mr.VFR rode it all the way home, not a single drop of oil escaped the holed cover.
The R6 didn't want to start, so I logically bumpstarted it in the dirt on a steep rocky hill with no helmet.
Fixing the hole:
Better than OEM!
Maybe if you all don't get up at the asscrick of dawn next year, you can ride with us
