Hi all! yes...The Misfits have two different rides planned for the same day...some will be going to SF with Koi and hopefully others will join me on a nice mellow group ride from Napa out to Bodega Bay and back. Options...options!!

So our breakfast:
Black Bear Diner
303 Soscol Ave, NAPA CA
9am Sharp
Please RSVP here by Saturday night,if possible so I can have a table prepared. Last minute shows are okay but we may be short on table space!

We will expect that KSU will be around 10:30 am. Please try and get gas before breakfast so we do not have to stop after.

Koi's Misfits Speech!

KSU if firm at 10:30am!

I do ride ATGATT and hope you do too. If there are new rider's we will have a pre-ride safety meeting to ensure we're all on the same page.

"A" Number 1 Goal is to return with the same amount of bike's and the same amount of rider's we left with.

The only two rules:

BE FRIENDLY!

BE SAFE!

That being said if you are wanting to learn to ride, please don't expect us to teach you. If you have the skills and just need some seat time... this group is for you!!! Does that mean 500 miles or a thousand? I can't tell you but before you join a group ride be sure you can join one safely.

We will wait for the last person so don't be afraid of being ditched. Please know the route as best as you can and if you want a map ask and I will have them for you at the start. But we will wait at major direction changes to ensure no lost chickies. If you are going to leave somewhere mid-route let someone know so we don't send search parties for you as your sitting on your couch. Please make sure to grab someone's cell phone in case you get lost, or decide to go home you can send a txt or call.

I will not listen to complaint's that you did not reach 6th gear, that you didn't drag your knee enough, or that you are :mortifer melting.

I do not want to EVER hear that other rider's are going too slow. This is a Mellow Ride and should be friendly towards all riders. If you want to ride faster nothing is stopping you, ride your PACE and know the route so that you can be parked and de-geared at the next meeting point instead of being in your helmet. But Please, I don't want to come around a corner and find you in a world of hurt, or even worse, buzz right past you and not realize your off in the woods.

More Importantly, I don't want anyone to feel pressured to go faster then they are comfortable with. I hope that everyone has the experience level to be comfortable with speeding up on a straight away to catch the group ((not talking anything crazy but enough to make up some ground)) but I also don't expect you to keep up with any one rider's pace while in the twisties.

Anything larger then 4 I will ask for a sweep. I do not expect them to maintain sweep position the entire ride but if you sign up please be responsible and wait till we stop and you can let people know who the new sweep is.

Group's larger then 10 and we will arrange a 2nd lead and have 2 sweeps so that we can limit the length of stops at directional changes.

Let's :ride

I'm riding with you on this one...but won't be able to do breakfast. I'll be there at 10:15 or a little bit earlier.

Hey... why not all meet at one place for breakfast and then do separate rides?

Hey... why not all meet at one place for breakfast and then do separate rides?

Rod...I talked to Koi about combining breakfast at Fremont but after thinking about it..decided on the usual Black Bear for a few reasons:

1. I have never been to Fremont but know it can be crowded and Koi told me you can order "to go" and sit outside. I personally did not want to sit outside in the cold to eat breakfast or eat it "to go" style. Warming up over a hot breakfast is more my style!

2. Fremont is a bit more inland and I figured if the ride attracts other riders from outside the area, BB Diner is a bit more accessible from 80, 29, etc.

3. I wanted to do my route a particular way..going up silverado and up to calistoga, etc...so BB diner is perfect start place for that.

Thanks Patty -- looks like Koi may be moving his breakfast to Black Bear. :)

So I'll probably join you, at least for coffee, then take a loop up towards Clear Lake to hit some dirt roads. :teeth

Hmmm, choices choices, what to do?. Ok I'll be at black bear at 9, and hopfully talk to rod about his dv ride. Then off to the city Koi.

Why can't we all ride together? :( The more the merrier.
So far, there's only 4 of us that I see here and Kois ride.

In for breakfast fer sure......I'll explore riding options after filling my belly full of flap jacks. I want to hear more about Rod's dirt road riding plans.......

Hi Will,
I didn't want to step on koi's toes but I just didn't want to go to SF after I spent all day last Saturday there...also did alot of slab riding last sunday for the curve unit ride so didnt want a ride that involved alot of slab right now.

So far for my ride:

Patty
Carl
Joe (he confirmed to me via email)
Will

no we're not stepping on anyones toes, we don't do that stuff, right?....I too just don't feel like riding to the city yet, and definitely not going to do dirt riding...at least not on a street bike.
Carl?

I'd love to join ya'll on this believe me, but in order for our February Misfit ride to be a success, I need to iron out some details... hence the pre-ride.

Will see ya'll for breakfast, and then Tim and I will be heading off to rampage in SF

And none of my toes are being stepped on, ya'll know me, I just wanna :ride

Yup, Carl the GSXR 750 HOODLUM! without a watch :cool (Darn 3 second thing) Watches are for those that dont ride.:teeth

I love food, and riding and other such things....... so count me in.

Dirt works too. Had some of the best times in my life throwing dirt at my friends. Go fast and lead or sneeze up dust bubbles.

If you're gonna be in front make sure you know the route.

Rod, Your route looks very ambitious for this time of year. The NF roads can be a slow go if they're rutted out from all the yahoos in their 4X4's. You may run out of daylight. Just saying........

Greg I am not sure what to expect, but wanted to go up and check it out. It's possible I/we will go :wtf and do something else.

That said, I did post in the Adventure Riding forum asking for "easy dirt roads" and slackmeyer and Luckett pointed me to these, among others. Of course they may be having some fun at my expense but I'm gonna take a chance. :laughing

The roads he's looking at should be fine... there are plenty of offshoots and yes those can get rutted by yahoo's like myself...

But for the most part, it's a fire road and maintained as such.

I don't know what kind of off-road experience you have. The NF roads are a fine place to gain some experience. Only licensed vehicles are suppose to use them. They're usually easily navigated.....but can still bite you if you're not comfortable on your bike. What kind of crash protection does your bike have? Crash bars, bash plates, water pump and hose protectors, hand guards, spare parts, water, levers, tie straps, vice grips, wire and electrical tape should all be in your tool kit.

I'd suggest that you go directly to Clear Lake from breakfast and do as much playing in the NF as possible. Just remember that you'll have to ride yourself home that there may not be cell phone coverage nor many people/rangers up there, so ride accordingly.......and bring a riding buddy just in case.
