Yes, we got the go-ahead for you folks to sell your used 'stuff' cluttering up your garage and closets!

If you have extra:

helmets
gloves
boots
jackets
pants
clutch levers
tires
wheels
seats
bodywork
blinkers
blinker fluid

... you get the idea - make room for new stuff!

Space WAS limited, and we just got a go-ahead to have swappers and swappees use the lawn near the fire station itself!

If there are still folks who want to bring stuff to sell/swap ... let's let them come (so perhaps re-open the list?) ... as we can have the swap meet area between the cafe and the fire department ... in the grass field, as there will be room there for LOTS of folks.

Wooohooooo!

Location: LaDucati Day in La Honda
Time: Sunday, Sept 22nd, 2013, 10am to 4pm

If you plan to ride and can't carry the goods home, ask a local vendor or organizer that drove to help, or make a plan to meet with the seller another time/place.

Donating a portion of your proceeds to this fundraiser is appreciated but not mandatory.

It'd be great to have some local shops - or private parties - allow us to hold these every couple of months in different Bay Area locations, don't you think?

If you have any input, please share it!

A regular swap meet would be awesome. Wish I could make this one, but I'll be gone that weekend. :(

has to be moto related stuff?
Hmmmm... Great question!

What product(s) did you have in mind? How much of it? How much space would it take?
Would any profits go to the Fire Brigade for whom this whole day is dedicated?

For the rest of you, just PM me, get a tablecloth from the $1 Store and plop your extra bike/rider stuff on it.
It really helps to label things with prices; & be open to some bargaining.

I'm just trying to fill a need here... I have many friends with garages full of bike stuff they don't need - and others might!

Here's a chance to try things on in person too -- so hit up the Classifieds and ask the sellers to bring their stuff. ;)

holy sweet jesus! Ill be there for shurr! got tons of stuff mostly new, helmets, levers, maintaince stuff, etc. How do I sign up? i can bring my trailer and all of my display racks and stuff. If we really wanted to get creative I could bring my tire machine and balancer and do tire services that 100% of the profits go to BARF or we could split it a way to help out Stanton's recovery too. Im game for this event!

I have some ladies riding stuff, so ladies and gentlemen, if you want a good deal on getting yourself or your cupcake safely and cheaply equipped, come to this event!
-Couple pairs of black leather pants, fashionable leather jacket motoesque look (love this, but it is too small for me) black with white stripe. Freeze out top no bottoms, tis too big for moi... will dig through more stuff too.
(Yana, PM incoming)

First-come basis, with the LDD organizers not involved in ANY manner. Sell that extra stuff - one man's garbage is another man's treasure, lol.

Please price label them all - it's much better to know an asking price than to wait for an answer from a busy seller.

Do keep in mind that this day is all about supporting the brave volunteers at the Fire Brigade, as well as the Riders For Health who bring medical supplies and services to far, remote areas of the world. :thumbup Be generou$!

It'd be great to hold such swap meets regularly all over the Bay Area - talk to your local shops about it.
We can even have 'em at a local residence with a big yard/driveway, or an empty parking lot, etc.

Thanks,

No need to PM me any more with the new area opened for the sellers (see above or OP).

It's a first-come basis and it's up to you to watch your own stuff. :cool

Shop the Dollar Store for a tablecloth, price labels, Sharpies, etc, and have change to give back (unless all of your things are in multiples of $20's).

Hope this is a productive event for both the sellers, buyers and the fundraiser itself!

Gonna try to make this , got wayyyyyyyy to much un-used gear :laughing

For those of you who prefer to ride over to the fundraising festivities and just buy stuff instead of selling, bring bungee nets for the goods, and lots of ca$h in many denominations (not just $20 bills).

If it's big stuff your bike can't handle, find me in the afternoon - I may cage it (drive from SJ area), or at least will try to hook you up with someone else that can transport it for you.

Also, Evolution Suspension has graciously offered to host a swap meet at their shop soon! :applause :party Stay tuned (pun intended).

Great idea, Yana! Too bad there's already a journey this weekend.

FYI, the LHFD has an annual autumn pumpkin pancake breakfast fund raiser. They wouldn't say no to a swap meet in their driveway if that brings more hungry mouths and cash to their operation.
