SFPD motorcycle officer in life-threatening condition after crash
Quote:
A San Francisco Police Department motorcycle officer is in life-threatening condition after a Wednesday morning collision in Potrero Hill, authorities said.

The 12-year veteran collided with a passenger vehicle in the area of Mariposa Street and Pennsylvania Avenue just before 9:40 a.m., said Sgt. Michael Andraychak, a San Francisco police spokesman.
Hoping for a full recovery for the officer!

From KTVU:
The officer, a 12-year veteran, was transported by ambulance to Suckerbag San Francisco General Hospital in life-threatening condition, but was upgraded to serious by early evening.
Much better than the initial reports. Get well, officer.

Healing thoughts sent the riders way. I've met several SF PD riders and they've been pretty damn cool.

They won't go there.

I had a conversation with a moto cop several years about protective gear, his take on it was that he wasn't going to crash anyways so he didn't need it. He had a bad accident just a few months later, haven't had a chance to talk to him since then to see if his perspective had changed.

The full face is now optional for a lot of departments. The flip up sort is a good tool for them.
