Loved the new online renewal. Fast, easy, no complaints.

The bad news was I didn't owe any money - because I still had a credit from crashing out during the last round.

Will we get hard cards this year? Or don't they get handed out anymore? I haven't gotten one for the last two seasons.

There was a call between MSR and Licensing recently and we are working out the logistics of the hard card production.

I don't have an official yes answer, but we are leaning towards making them.

I signed up online and 'paid' the reg fees.

As a first time applicant I am hoping to avoid having to get forms notarized but understand either way. This is a surefire way to get lots more to sign up!

I want to be ready to take the NRS with Keigwins 3/17/17, what more do I need to do?

I will email this question if no response but I figure I'm not the only one wondering

Thanks for everything you do AFM!

FYI, if you take the NRS with Keigwins on 3/17 at Thunderhill, you will be missing round 1 at Buttonwillow (same day).

You could also do the NRS at Round 1 so that you don't miss that first round: http://www.afmracing.org/getting-sta...fm-nrs-program

Disclaimer: nothing against Keigwins' NRS program only with the scheduling as a suggestion, I did my NRS with them

Haha I think so but memory is a bit fuzzy that was a crazy weekend. I'll PM you

Also, I think there were 3 AFM novices riding S1000RRs this year.

Glad you are coming onboard!

AFM NRS schedule for 2018 has not been released yet, but I am pretty sure they will have at least 3 and the 1st will almost certainly be at Buttonwillow for Round 1. I would suggest you contact the AFM NRS director Marc Zarra for more info - treasurer@afmracing.org

Additional question: as the MSR registration did not include a selection for novice/expert, when and how will we indicate the choice? When we are signing up for the first races or earlier than that?

I emailed licensing@afmracing.org with my concern and they were able to change it out for me I think

Notary is not required anymore (except for minor release) but all racers do need to have a completed contact info / waiver form on file with AFM. This form can be submitted in advance by mail or you can fill one out at registration at first round you race for the year. This must be done each year. Updated forms are now available at the AFM website
