I like Robert's idea as well. Less because of the speed difference with novice vs. expert but simply to reduce the number of bikes on track at the same time.

Look, I'm just agreeing with all the Roberts in this thread, I can't be expected to keep track of which one said what.

btw, who broke the AFM website w/ the new race schedule? the CityBike link goes nowhere useful, the Feb mag isnt available online yet, and the schedule isnt on the Schedule page.

Which Rob1?!?!? There are 3 now in this thread!

And yeah, I totally agree.

AFM website
"The 2018 weekend schedule will be available in CityBike Magazine in one week"

Barf Website
"The upcoming issue of City Bike will have our upcoming Buttonwillow schedule for the March round printed in the center spread."

Are they hinting at us that we need to subscribe to City Bike magazine in order to view or Race Day schedules ahead of time?

Regarding Novices/ Expert qualifying for Formula classes; we didn't delineate when we made the decision to move forward with the change, however talking to two other BOD members, we all felt we were thinking of Experts when we made the move. I don't know how the others feel, but Rob has the same points we would make; time differences and the reasons for moving to expert grant qualifying. I also believe for a new racer/ novice, qualifying is another complication on top of the newness of racing.

So, given any pushback from anyone on the board, qualifying should be an expert level perk.

I didn't post the schedule as the intent was to further bond our partnership with Citybike by riders checking the CB site or picking up a mag like Gordo did.

PLEASE SUPPORT CITYBIKE!

You cannot access a CityBike issue online until it is put into "Back Issue" status which seems to happen only when the next issue releases. Because the AFM schedule is published in the March issue (which just went into stores) it looks to not be available online at CityBike until the April issue release sometime later in March.

Apologies for posting that up.

Moto shops all over The Bay are stocking them. Stop by and pick a copy up. It kills 2 birds with one stone. One, you get the schedule and two, you can get your OEM oil filter or 7.

Expert-only for QP sessions should mean ~25 riders on track. thats somewhat light, even for tight tracks. it'll still take some skill, but it shouldn't be too hard to find space for a hot lap. it should be a lot of fun.

if I sign up for F1 and FP, must I do both sessions? can I just do FP's QP and have it count for both classes?
