Would you ride 2-up with your buddy a viable way of getting around?

  • Sure! I do it all the time, I'm comfortable with my sexuality and its fun!

  • No thanks, no way. When 2 guys need to get somewhere there must either be 2 bikes or 1 car.

  • No thanks, no way, the only way I would ride 2 up with a guy is in an emergency situation.

What is your guys take on a guy rider with a guy passanger? I always thought it was pretty damn homo, but today I was in the car with my dad and brother (crossing the bridge to SF) and I saw a guy and a male passanger taking the riding over to SF on a harly. I assumed they were going to watch the game cuz the guy passanger had a niner jersey on. He was a pretty big guy with an open face helmet so I knew it was definitly a guy and I also want to point out he made a point not to have his hands around the guys waist, but was holding on the passanger seat-back behind him. This led me to believe that he might be straight...to buddies off for a day at the game in SF? Wow, I'm not homophobic, but I think I'd rather just drive...We passed them at the toll plaza, but then they split they're way up passed us after that so I was able to snag a pic...

When I was younger I always gave rides to my friends. It was never 'gay' or a big deal. Of course, finding a sportbike these days that would allow you to put a guy on the back is nigh impossible.

What is wrong with being homosexual?

I rode on the back with another guy once, but only to get my bike out of the shop. I don't feel comfortable on the back of a bike period, doesn't matter who is in control (unless it is my wife).

this question sure does seem to bring out the homophobia in me

:hand Shouldn't be a big deal!

I'm very straight, and a long time ago I used to give rides on the back to both males and females; the latter a lot more - to see what riding was like... <shrug>

If you don't care, it shouldn't matter. :angel

:2cents

(And don't expect a straight answer - no pun intended - from this :loco bunch, lol. :laughing)

Yana:banana

I remember giving my buddy rides around on the back of my trail 70, I don't think its gay. I would rather drive though. Anything over 110lbs on the back is a handful

dont really care...rode 2 up with friends to give them a exp on how it feels to be on a bike....i didnt think it was gay....

For the record I'm not homophobic, but if the guy was so "comfortable" with it not being a big deal then he really shoulda had his arms around the drivers waste cuz the way he was holding on to the seat back didn't seem safe. Me personally I voted no I don't ride like that. I think that the safest way for two riders to be on a bike of any gender requires a pretty "intimate" seating position and I wouldn't feel comfortable in such close quarters with a guy OR a girl that I didn't find attractive (i.e. a girl that I wouldnt be that close to in other situations.)

If my buddies wanted to ride 2-up I wouldn't hassel em for it, but if another friend had free space and said I should roll with him I would politely decline and tell them I'll take my own bike. I don't like close talkers either. I don't think it makes me a bad guy...

Just my 2 cents...

Well there's your answer... no bashing intended.

Damn youtube for not having the clip of Family Guy wherein Cleveland buys a motorcycle and Peter rides on it...

When I used to go on rides on the back of my wife's Shadow, I didn't hold onto anything. Between the saddle bags and passenger backrest, I was more then comfortable just playing the Gameboy while we were blasting down the road.

Seriously, I was playing Mario Kart while on the back of the Shadow. Made for some pretty funny looks from people passing :laughing

Eh, fair enough. I've never road passanger before so I guess I can't speak on it. It just doesn't APPEAR to be a safe if you're not holding on to the driver...

Many, many years ago, when I was first married, my now ex-husband's truck broke down. For quite a while, the only transportation we had was MY motorcycle (Nighthawk 450). Now, if you think I was gonna ride bitch on my own bike, well, guess again. Luckily, my ex was pretty secure in his masculinity... or maybe he wasn't, and it just beat the hell out of walking...
Or maybe that's one of the reasons we're divorced now! :laughing

the problem is the seating position on modern sportbikes. the pillion is practically forced to give you a reach-around.

theres nothing gay about riding on the back of a motorcycle as long as you wear levis under your chaps!

:orly

The existence of the topic seems to suggest otherwise. It just doesn't matter.

As for the reach around, well most folks don't have the arms that would reach around me. :p

Why would he want to carry the other guy's garbage around? :green

You do seem awfully concerned with what guys are doing with each other on bikes. :laughing Eyes on the road, man.

So
I used to ride a motorcycle in Hawaii all the time. Since Hawaii has no helmet law, and all I had was a Honda GS500, I didn't even own a helmet.

There were a few times I had to "pack" a doode on my bike, but would always hate it.

One time we were going to the club, all dressed up, hair slicked back, all cologned up, smelling like a whore house.

A group of ladies pulled up at a stop light and started giggling at us. That was the last time that EVER happened. And yes, it is WAYYYYY GHEEEY!
