I want to compose this post as delicately as possible, but at the same time I am really curious to understand whether or not there was any special protocol concerning 2-up riding w/ individual's who's girlfriend or significant other is a "full-figured" passanger.

I was driving around in my cage on saturday and I was passed on the street by a sportbike that appeared as though it was being driven by some big guy sitting towards the rear seat. When I pulled along side it at the light it turns out it wasn't solo male rider, but a huge female large enough to completely block my view of the driver up front. He was a pretty big guy himself (and didn't see to be in the best of physical shape), but not as large as his female passanger. When they came to a stop I was watching closely to see how he was gonna support the bike with what looked like 300+ pounds of cargo. He set his foot down and it looked as though it was about to buckle under the weight...but next thing you know she begins inching her foot down as well (slowly because it was definitly a reach) and once it connected to the pavement she pushed down, releiving him of some of the weight.

I haven't been riding all that long, but none the less I had never seen anything like it. This really got me thinking...I mean I'm wasn't into large women even before I started riding, but are riders exempt from having large girlfriends? Anybody here have a girlfriend over 150 or even 200-300lbs and if so have you guys figured out some way of making it work when riding together? It seems as though it wouldn't be too difficult for short rides, but put after a full day of riding and leaning you're bound to end up tipping your bike over, right?

the larger person should be the driver and the smaller the bitch... does not matter what sex they are. it is about weight distribution and handling.

Not a larger woman but when I was younger I used to ride with my friends on the back all the time, so probably about 350-400lbs. on the bike total. Never had a problem balancing it though and they never put their feet down. Bikes back then were much better suited to carrying passengers though with dial preload adjusters and lower seats. And the bikes were on the heavy side themselves. Only time I had a problem is if we were coming to a stop and they decided to lean to look at something, but I had that problem with the last gf who was on the tiny side.

I think that I will file the next OT salvo:

In Napa there is this billboard on 29 with a picture of a wine cork and a champagne cork. The caption reads "Which one looks like more fun?"

Every time I see that I want to hang a banner underneath it reading:

BIG GIRLS ROCK

I have not yet been riding with one, but the bike itself may be 400-650+ pounds, the only way you manage it at stoplights is by staying away from the tipping point...

Some big old gal here at work (probably about 220 lbs) kept asking for a ride on my GT550, and eventually I took her around the block, mostly to see what it would be like to ride with someone on the back who weighs more than me! I'm about 150. Let me tell you, it was no picnic, even on a big standard bike. Stopping and holding up the bike wasn't bad at all, but I made damn sure not to let it lean more than a couple degrees from vertical. If that huge mass got to tipping over, I probably couldn't have saved it. My single disc brake in the front and little drum in the back aren't all that great for when it's only me, and I could tell they were working overtime slowing that payload down.

My girlfriend's only like 120. We rode my Harley 250 single two up to Alices once. It's definately better if the person on the back is smaller than you are.

yeah... fat girls are like scooters... theyre fun ashell to roll around on, but youll never live it down if your friends see you with em( or on your bike)

i know.. original!

My girl doesn't ride with me because she's so big that she has been bedridden for the last seven years. I love her though.

I'm dating a larger woman..she's 5'3 and about 115. that's pretty big right?
