I'm putting together another EX250 maintenance day during spring break for us semester folk. This is the perfect time to get your bike ready for the riding season if you haven't un-winterized it already. And if you need help performing some regularly scheduled maintenance, then head on over.

If you have the new EX250, you guys are invited as well. I know some of us are dying to see what's behind those fairings. I bet you want to take care of that mid-range flat spot and poor idle in the morning.

Don't fret if you have some other bike, you're welcome to come over as well. Henley (CTU Shao) will be working on his EX650 in the afternoon and I expect Bobby (HeavenzJai) will bring over either his VFR-750 or his DR-350. Hopefully someone else there will know a thing or two about your bike. :teeth

I should have all of the tools necessary to complete most tasks, including a fork oil level gauge this time around. :eboy I should have a pair of stands come the 22nd and Henley has lent me his spooled rear stand, but if anyone can offer to lend me theirs, we can work on a lot more bikes and I'd greatly appreciate it. Please PM me.

Please let me know what you plan on doing that day and come over accordingly. For instance, if you need to do your valves and you ride over at 1600, it's not going to happen. Allow for time for your bike to cool down/warm up.

Also, if you don't want to do the work yourself, I can accomodate you as well. Just PM me.

Just to let everyone know, please bring your own consumables for the bike (i.e. oil, chain lube, paper towels, etc.). I have plenty of oil jugs for used oil. Please give me a heads-up if you plan to change your oil.

There will be food, I just don't know what yet. I have a gas grill in the backyard we can use while the engines are cooling off. If you'd like to cook something on the grill, let me know. :bbq There's also plenty of fruit trees (apples, plums, orange, persimmons, etc.) that you're welcome to pick a snack from.

Lastly, the area I live in allows for easy warm up laps. :ride Yes, I said laps. :p

If I think of anything else, I'll be sure to post.

Aaargh! I've been waiting for you to have another one of these, but I might be out of town for AFM. If not I'll be working (why does this have to be on a Saturday, yyyy!!! :cry). What time is this going on in case I'm working and not at Button Willow?

No, I think you'll have to deal with shims and buckets and whatnot. I don't think I'll be able to help you with that. :(

EDIT: This may be handy: Linky :teeth

If my stands come in this week, I may do my forks this Saturday. That way, my stands are free for others during the maintenance day. I'll let you know so you can come over.

well shoot, do you think it could be done?

Can it, yes. Will we, maybe. I can try to help. If anything, measuring the clearances will be doable. :dunno

yo, Al, I'll get some food , maybe hotdogs/sausages w/ buns for the bbq. Mind if I bring some non-moto folks?

No worries. We'll convert them. Have Farm come over too if she's free. :teeth

BTW, which bike will you bring over?

which bike thats a good question. vfr = lots of work and checks to do. dr = needs parts.
I'll probably drive, but who knows.

dont think you wanna help me replace a head gasket in my ex250, do ya? :p

That's a lot of work, isn't it? Don't you have to get past the valves to be able to replace a head gasket?
