210 mph. I know I'm going to get hate mail from this, just like my last high speed post :pBut I think this is worth a post. So I took a trip to Carson City, then Vegas on a business trip. While I was in Vegas I decided to go by and visit Area 51. On my wayback to Vegas, hwy 93 was dead empty, it was in the middle of the day, 50 mile long road with no cars, and no turns... Just couldn't resist it so I went for it. I'm proud of this speed, especially coming from a V2, so that's why I'm posting it. Here is a pic of my top speed and the road I was on, also of AREA 51.
9,900 rpm's,
17/38 sprocket
not a single living thing in sight
:nerd And I know someone will bring it up, so before it is asked, Aprilia speedo's are very acurate at any speed, and I can view my top speed, average speed, and saved lap times at the push of a button. I just took the picture yesterday, but I did the ride October 18th. Not a bad speed for a V Twin.

Not doubting you just wondering. I didn't know aprilia's had that feature to save the top speed. Must have been one helluva rush. :thumbup

How is the "speedo" Picture so still at that speed:wtf:twofinger:burnout:burnout

I get the speed was recorded and you took the picture later, but honestly, the experience of riding at that rate of speed must have been truly other worldly, especially given the location. Did you work your way up to going that fast or have you only been riding a short time?

Just curious, what year Mille and what type / size of rear tire? I wouldn't think you could reach those kinds of speeds with minimal changes in gearing, much less have the power to push it.

I take it the speedo sensor is mounted on the wheel?

Congrats your Aprilia is 35 mph faster than any magazine has ever tested it at. Top speed on your bike is 174 give or take a couple. Perhaps you should take that magical bike to Bonneville. It would set a new top speed record for a production motorcycle. Or perhaps I'll just call :bs:bs:bs:teeth

+1:bs:bs And the magazines have Pro Riders testing the bikes.
