When: Early Sunday morning, 5:30am, 4/12/09
Where: Arco Station @ Tam junction. 251 Shoreline Hwy, Mill Valley ca
Who: You and all the other ne'er-do-well motorcyclists you can convince to get up this early on a Sunday.
Why: Because every year on Easter Sunday, the park rangers open up the gates of Mt. Tamalpais national park to motorcycles before dawn, so we can ride up to the top of the mountain to watch the sunrise. Its a spectacular panorama of the beautiful part of the world we live in, and an experience that you really can't enjoy any other way.

Make sure you have some cash on hand for the park fees. Sadly, that part isn't free.

See you there!

easter ride

getting up for this..although have wedding (not mine ) day b4..head will be heavy..

Its whatever the cal. state park fee is. I wanna say it was six bucks last year, so its probably $50 now.

Just bring a tenner, let the ranger sort out the change.

There is no gate fee. There's a box at the East Ridge parking lot that gets ignored.

Sounds like a good reason to get up at an ungodly hour.:thumbup

Is this doable on, say, a CBR? I seem to remember the road up Mt. Tam being quite the goat trail.... :)

i'm thinking about going. Sounds like an awesome way to start the day.

What kind of turn out do you guys get?

its fine,:party very little gravel
Just watch for a guy in black leathers riding a KTM 690 going over the side, then you'll where the chip seal starts. :twofinger I rode it yesterday, road is clean but it will be cold.
