The Danville d'Elegance is SUNDAY 9/27/09. An entry donation is suggested*

Real Cobras, Ferrari's, the Ducati demo truck (with demo rides all day), Astons, etc. Some of the same cars that cost $100's in entry tickets to see at Concorso Italiano, The Quail, and Pebble Beach.

Yes the $8,000,000 Ferrari TR250 that went flying at Laguna is going to be there.

I'll have some of my vehicles out there, including the Sunbeam from Pebble and the link below, and some historic racing Ducs.

The 5th Annual Danville Concours d'Elegance is Sunday September 27th, Noon to 5:00PM. In 2008 we proudly presented over 200 exotic marques, historic vintage race cars and motorcycles displayed along Hartz Avenue and surrounding streets.

Plan to be here for another great event. With the support of exotic car owners, auto collections such as The Blackhawk Auto Museum, and sports car clubs, the 5th Annual will continue to feature some of the finest automobiles past and present.

Picturesque downtown Danville, CA provides the perfect backdrop for an exciting afternoon spent with friends and family enjoying the cars, wine, silent auction, celebrities and entertainment while raising money to benefit The Parkinson's Institute.
Before the Parkinson's jokes start - FU and read this Also note that they're finding some correlation between automotive/motorcycle chemicals/fuels/exhaust and acquiring the disease as you're mid pack on the next group ride.

*For BARFers who want to show and say hi, I'll match your entry donation. You drop a $5/10/20/other to get in, I'll drop a $5/10/20/other. PM me so we can meet and drop some $ together. This means something to me.

For BARFers that want to bid on the new Ducati 696 being donated by Ducati, I can get you an invite to the dinner the night before :teeth

If you'd like to help day of the event- PM me- I need some muscle early, early in the day.

Hmm...Maybe I'll slap a $50k For Sale on my '69 mach 1 stang and see if I have any takers. I dont want to sell it but if someone wants to get $50k for it that would be hard to pass up.

Hope to see some of you out there - if anyone is up for some 6am exercise, I could use some muscle, and it might earn you a spot at the front of the line for the Ducati Demo truck.

Thanks to those that have offered to help with set-up!!!!!!!! You'll get official recognition - when you show up :teeth

Beautiful day for it, and Sierra Nevada has donated a lotta gallons of their finest.

Volunteer info: I get to block the streets of downtown at 6AM. We need to drop barricades, and set up people entry gates/portable white farm style freestanding fences. We get to take it all down at 5PM if that fits anyones schedule better :teeth

It's basically manual labor and some reasonable self directed logic required.

As for the Duc truck:
For those of you who like to ride two wheels as well, Ducati will be here with a stable of award-winning motorcycles for you to test-ride. From the retro styling of the SportClassics to the power and agility of race-derived Superbikes, bring your gear and take a ride (must have full-face helmet, riding gloves, shoes that cover the ankle, long sleeve shirt, and pants to ride).

If you are unfamiliar with the Ducati motorcycle brand, they hold more World Superbike Championship titles than all other manufacturers combined and are on their way to another title with riders Noriyuki Haga, the current points leader, and Micheal Fabrizio.....

If you'd like the chance to ride like a champion, please come out and join us on Sunday.

We look forward to seeing you at this event to help us fight Parkinson's Disease.

You can come prepared with test ride paperwork downloaded from here

ok never mind I really can't make this. the actual show starts at 12, i start work at 11:30 :(

I'll definitely pop by later in the day but leaving the Duc at home and taking the cage (I'll still bring a helmet and gloves to do the test rides).

I was there from 5:45 Sunday morning until 7:30 Sunday night, volunteering to put up barricades, act as pole marker for cars backing into position, and just general handyman.

Snuck in two Duc rides (only bikes out were the Hypermotards) from Danville center to the golfcourse & back. Nothing challenging or real fun, the factory guys would not let us take them up to the booth on Mt Diablo, which would have really been much more appropriate than street riding.

Did tear-down from 6 PM until 7:30 PM, and I think Danville ended the day a little cleaner than how it started the day... :laughing

Had an overall good time, good people-watching (ok, :boobies) :laughing
