First you take off the tank mounts. You have to remove the petcock knob to clear the subframe.

The vent hoses are right next to the rear mount.

This gives you access to the airbox.

Remove the airbox lid.

Ram air bikes have get a lot of dirt on the air filters. Be careful not to let any get near the venturis when you take the filter out.

Disconnect the fuel line. Remove the airbox bottom. This gives you access to the intake manifold clamps.

Disconnect the idle adjuster screw.

Disconnect the throttle cables at the handlebar.

The carb clamps are a royal pain in the ass, buried deep by the engineer who NEVER worked on anything he designed. Idiot.

As soon as the carbs pop out of the manifolds, cover the intakes with a rag. Dirt has a straight shot into the combustion chamber. Disconnect the cables from the throttle shaft.

Place the carb set in a plastic tub and go to a well ventilated area.

Drain the fuel from the float bowls using an allen wrench.

I use contact cleaner on the carb bodies to get all the skank off.

I start the disassembly on a clean bench top.

I mark the float bowls and remove the brass mixture screw caps with a drill bit CAREFULLY. If you butcher this part, you'll ruin the carb set.

The shavings are cleaned off and then the float bowls are removed.

Then I carefully remove the mixture screws, being sure to get the screw spring, washer and o-ring.
