Holy crap! I knew there was contact in nine, but I had no idea how bad until I just saw it from the sick bed.

First lap we all came into nine still pretty close together. Up ahead I saw three guys over shoot it. Two went for the ditch route through the hay bails, and apparently one turned before the bails and headed across directly to the apex of the left exit part of the nine chicaine. We were on the clean fast line through the right/left switch back when through the corner of my eye I saw the "T-bone" coming. I remember thinking "Oh no, not in this race.. and not like this I'm gunna get taken out!" I was already turned in for the left exit, totally committed, so I dropped the left shoulder and timed the impact. Lifted like a linebacker just as the bike hit me in the ribs/arm/shoulder. The impact definitely sent me off, but the linebacker move made the whole deal saveable. It all came together again and we boogied for turn ten. Never gave it another thought until I just saw the replay on TV.

If you get a chance to catch it, it's pretty hysterical. No one got hurt thankfully.

GoGo I was about 50ft away in the stands directly across from T9, it looked like it was going to "be real bad", but after everything had settled their was only one guy down (after catching SERIOUS air)...he picked it up, gave it a once over and off he went.

Nice football move!

No shit, I feel the same way. I had no idea the guy crashed till I just saw it too. Wish I taped it.

Would have been nice to get it taped, for those who could not go and don't have speed chanel... somebody?

Wow, just watched the race on Tivo. Damn that was one heavy hit. Gogo was catching some air and so did the other guy. :wow

I have it burned on DVD. I'll see if I can make copies.

Do you have both days? I will pay you for a copy. I missed it on Speed and have no Tivo. I do have a VCR still.....

It's actually spelled "bales" but your spelling rendition is more accurate after watching the braking hero fly through the air.

And holy crap you are fast through that chicane! Flip, flop, a flippidity flop and you don't stop.

Holy shit Cheeky. Nice job.....

How you got that I have no idea.

Thanks though. Now I understand why my ribs hurt..

That's awesome! I think it might be time to put some football pads on the outside of your leathers bro! Damn, that puts a new angle on the definition of competitive. Now all we need to do is get it on the sports highlights across the nation and we may be able to attract a larger market for motorcycle racing (you know....tap into that WWF/Nascar crowd :teeth ).

Cowboy up Go Go..:wow

Will watch it tonight...feel better.

The downed rider was Taylor Knapp, #38. I ran over to him after the 'mugging' by gogo, he was looking around like a wide receiver trying to call pass interference or something. He then yelled at me, "Where's the red flag?" I just ran over and picked up his bike, and yelled back, "Are you OK?" He was checking out his arm, but his adrenaline quickly took over and he asked, "Hows my bike?" I told him to get on and try and start it, and he fired it right up. I told him to watch out for gas leaking out of the huge dent in the side of his tank, I checked underneath for any leaks, and told him he was good to go. As he rode off, I picked up 4 pieces of his windshield, did a quick check of the track, and that was that. I also got some pretty good airtime on speed channel, which I recorded on tivo of course.

You had a rough weekend gogo, I was also in the same spot to witness your visit to our workers in T10. I hope you are ok, and you and your bikes are ready for the next AFM round.

Hopefully I will see you all there, and remember, I will visit you in the pits, so dont come see me on the track!

Although I am from NY, I still have never mugged anyone. Taylor blew the turn but didn't want to lose the time going through the hay bales, so he headed for a turn that he would have had to stop to make. But he had no intention of stopping. If you look at the video you'll easily see if he didn't impact me he would have got the next guy. My football move was self defense. In a sense, Taylor basically asked me which one of us was gunna fall, me or him. I'm glad he got the answer he did.

And by the way, if you're a corner worker, you're a priceless breed. Without you, we got nuttin'

Sincerest thanks
