saw this on the Mercury News on page 7A.
Los Altos man accuses of threatening motorcyclists with buzzing chain saw:
James Chalkley got into an argument after he stopped his truck in a parking lot at skyline and la honda road on 6/2, when he became angry at another man who drove past him on a motorcycle. He got a chain saw from his truck, firing it up and chraging into a group of motorcyclists, including the man with whom he had argued. No one was injured. he was arrested and charged whith brandishing a deadly weapon.

someone should find out where this guy lives at and have hella bikes show up in front of his house just peeling out and shit. this guy also owns a tree trimming business...anyone feel like calling him over to cut some trees down???:laughing

This happened up at Alice's a couple of weeks ago. Perform a search and read all about the drama. His tree trimming service included squatting on local property owners' land and chopping down trees for selling firewood. He also enjoyed threatening bikers with crowbars and his vehicle in his spare time.

I wonder if is the same guy who brandished a shovel at me on Tunitas a while back?

ever wonder where that tree in your front yard went years ago?

:shocker

he looks about 40-45 years old, large build, light colored hair (semi long) and mustache, has a beige/red colored old chevy or ford... sort of a trailer trash type.

May be you can contact the cops and see if they have a picture of him for you to identify?

damn, to think I had the damn digital camera in the bag while this whole shit was going on and I totally forgot about taking some pictures. :mad

i rember when that happened such an ass

Rusty coloured pickup, yep.

Long scruffy fair hair, yep.

That kinda age, yep.

Did I see his face? Nope, this was on Tunitas. I like Tunitas. I don't pause to admire the scenery on Tunitas!

Faz, you know me better :laughing

At least he got arrested and charged. I thought he got away since the other post didn't say anything about him getting busted. Shit, a fucking chain saw, the cops shoulda emptied a 15 round clip into his ass, if SJ cops can shoot a little Asian lady wileding a potato peeler defending her home to death, they definitely oughta take out Mr. Texas Chainsaw wannabe!

Rowdy tree trimmer pleads no contest

A Los Altos tree trimmer who allegedly waived a functioning chainsaw at a group of motorcyclists on Skyline Boulevard pleaded no contest to battery and received a 20-day jail sentence.

James Chalkley, 47, of Los Altos, switched his plea once prosecutors dismissed a misdemeanor charge of exhibiting a deadly weapon. He was immediately sentenced to 20 days in the county jail followed by a suspended sentence of 18 months probation. Chalkley receives credit for 10 days already served since his June 12 arrest in the parking lot at Skyline and State Route 84.

Chalkley was angered when a motorcyclist drove past him quickly, according to the District Attorney’s Office. He reportedly retrieved a chain saw from his truck, turned it on and charged up to a group of motorcyclists including the man at which he was angry. Chalkley waved it within inches of the man’s face before sheriff’s deputies were called, according to prosecutors.

20 Days in Jail?!?!??????????????
WTF!!!!

That is total BS!!!!

But 18 months probation isn't.

If he pulls any kind of stunt like that, road rage or anything that again, he gets locked up.

I disagree. He didn’t hurt anyone and didn’t intend to hurt anyone. Just scare the rider. I don’t agree with his actions but you can’t really throw someone in jail for a great amount of time when there really isn’t a person or organization that was victimized. 18 months will keep him on his best behavior and hopefully make him think before he acts.

I agree with the sentencing as long as there were some fine in there to somewhat offset the court costs and such.

I HAVE NEVER SEEN ANYONE THREATEN ANYONE ELSE WITH A FREAKIN CHAINSAW BEFORE.. I WAS ABOUT 5FEET FROM THIS CRAZY A$$ WHEN IT WENT DOWN. IT REMINDED ME OF OSCAR THE COLOMBIANO IN SCARFACE.. THAT'S SERIOUS SHIT! NOT ENOUGH TIME IN THE PIN. IF ANYONE COULD THREATEN TO TAKE ANOTHERS MAN LIFE AND ONLY GET 20 DAY WITH SOME PROBATION, WE WOULD BE IN SOME SERIOUS SHIT..

oh! Do you personally know this guy?! Do you know he didn't intend to hurt anyone? Did he tell you this?

You know what? I'm bored today... I'm going to go home, grab my AR15 and hold up a mini mart. I'm not going to actually take anything (I'll pay for my RedBull first), but I'm going to put the muzzle right into this guys face just so that I can watch him wet himself.

I won't actually pull the trigger or anything... No, wait! I'll leave it unloaded and when the hammer drops I'm sure that he'll soil himself as the click will sound to him like a ton of bricks hitting the ground. Yea... that'll be fun, I won't even intend to hurt anybody and nobody will be a victim! Sweet!

Then you will only get 15 YEARS in Prison!!!!!!
I'll say it again- 15 days is BS.

Nathan-
What if your wife or child was approached by someone with a 'running' chainsaw, and that person put it inches from their face; Would you say the same thing?

Screw that nutbag- he should be serving some real time.
