Dropped my bike after owning it for less than 24 hours.

Welp, basically I was making a right turn and I guess I was looking straight ahead instead of looking into the turn. I almost hit the center divider and panicked and just lowslided. The whole thing happend at maybe 20-30mph. My left mirror broke off, my clutch level snapped in half and my left fairing is scratched up. I'm fekin pissed. On the ride home I was just thinking how stupid I am. I don't think I'm gonna ride until I take my MSF course... :(

Yeah, framesliders are a must. How much will a left mirror/clutch lever cost me?

Mirror might run up to 70$
Clutch lever will cost 30$
Bar end slider 25$
Plastic $I_don't_even_want_to_know

If you were making a right, how'd the left side get messed up?

This is a really scary progression.

It started with the "I love my bike", thread.

Then "I came within an inch of dropping my bike".

And now this thread. All within 24 hrs.

I dare to ask what's next??

and yeah, if you were turning right, and lowsided, all the right would be messed up?

No, I turned right and straightend out in the far left lane, really REALLY close to the center divider and just panicked..it was either I go over it or I drop it.

Sorry to hear about your accident. It happens to most new riders so don't let it get you down.

It happened to me in 1971. I was practicing in a parking lot the first day. A car scared me that was crossing the parking lot, and I paniced. I put on the front brake to hard and low-sided.

Sure it was only a Suzuki 50, but it was an important lesson on brake control.

Didn't you just post a thread saying you saved your bike from dropping? I am sorry to hear that, frong. I hope you are okay. Contact Enchanter or Deeter. They are MSF instructors.

Sounds like target fixation to me. Never look at the object you are trying to avoid, you'll just increase your chances of hitting it.

Get to the MSF course ASAP bro, glad you're okay, but sounds like you need some instruction. Maybe some of the SB guys would be willing to take you out on a very leisurely stroll after going over some basics with you.

Should I put you on the waiting list for my weekly summer newbie rides?

Wasn't it you that almost dropped your bike but you save it with your foot or something like that? Becareful everything comes in 3's. Sorry to hear about your accident, but it is a must for frame sliders and MSF course. ;)

WTF? VFR Clutch levers cost 25$ but F4i levers cost 8.00$? What gives?

Thats too bad the picture looked sweet , don't sweat it just chalk it up to a learning experiance and keep practicing. At least the only thing damaged was the bike.

Here are some pictures..

The clutch lever and bar end are cheap to get. Mirror wise, like soneone said, go Ebay. But lots of knuckleheads will just bid it up to near retail anyways. You might just want to go with a set of carbon fiber mirrors. Looks tricker and same price for a pair of CF ones as one OEM one. Good luck trying to find that OEM lower on ebay. Chances are if you get one all in perfect condition, it will cost a grip.
