I am in the middle of installing the D&D pipes for an '02 CBR f4i and ran across a big question. Their is no hole on the connecting pipe to plug in the O2 sensor too...so....what do I do with the sensor connection? Just leave it not connecting to anything? Disconnect it? If it's not connected in, will I have problems with codes and such?

Help!!

dynojet sells an O2 sensor eliminator,we might have one at the shop,or you can ground the sensor to the engine. It will show a code(FI light on)if it is unplugged,or not grounded.

You can also just have a hole drilled, and bung welded on the new pipe to attach your O2 sensor. I had it done for $20. Either solution should work fine.

Thanks for the advice!

One more question, how do you know if you have an exhaust leak or not? I've heard that the mid pipe had problems with seals, so I wanted to make sure I don't have any leaks.

Thanks!

At each of the attachment points you can use your hand to feel any leaks (you will feel even a minor leak when the bike is revved). Often times with Aftermarket pipes you may need to adjust the clamps and retighten.

If that fails to solve it, not uncommon BTW, you can use a hight temperature sealant/and or exhaust gaskets available at Cycle Gear, Road Riders, and you local dealer.

Hare Racing in Sunnyvale also sells 02 sensor eliminators. That's where I bought mine. $14 if memory serves me right.

Thanks everyone for your help!

In order to get the leaks resolved (actually at both ends of the midpipe) I had to use a high temperature sealant. The O2 sensor eliminator seems to work well and I will take her out tomorrow and see how she runs.

Off to the RR sale on saturday! Hopefully see some of you there. Look for a Silver/Red F4i....with D&D exhaust. :teeth
