How to connect aftermarket signals to F4i??

Recently I got pairs of aftermarket signals (front) and try to put them my F4i....I dunno how to connect those wires together:

on the aftermarket signal side, there are:

A. 1 Red wire
B. 1 Black wire with white stripe

on the Bike (F4i side), there are:

C. 1 Green Wire
D. 1 Blue (or orange, depends on which is left or right side) wire
with white stripe
E. 1 Blue (or orange) wire withOUT white stripe

Do you guys know how I should connect those wires?

currently, I ignored the green wire (C) on the bike side, connected A with E and connected B with D.

I know it is NOT correct coz the signals act funny: when turn on the bike, both signals are on, when I signal left, the left signal was off and right signal was on constantly, and vice versa...

you guys have any idea?:( Thanks

Trying going A to C...

The Blue/Orange wires, w/o a white stripe, might be for the "daytime" running markers..

Ever notice how the F4i's front markers are always on?

yup, trial and error...c'mmon there's only 9 possible ways ;) One of the wires is for the running lights which you will not need. If the indicator light is on (on the dash) you have it wrong too. Good luck and don't forget to clip/tape the running light wire, as you could create a short if its just hanging around smacking into other wires/metal

Yup, thanks for the heads up...

successfully wired ...hehe

the correct result is:

A <-> C

B <-> D

E is the running light....(in my case, I don't connect it to anything...)

hmm, I got those cheap ass flush mount from cycle gear ,only costs me $9.99 , with bolts and everything :)

For Gregg's Customs flushmounts (the yellow doesn't quite match my 2002 F4i, by the way, it's too light ... isn't the RR's yellow lighter?) the connections you want are different:

Signal-side RED --> Bike-side BLUE (or ORANGE depending on side) WITHOUT WHITE STRIPE
[The white-striped wire is for running lights.]

Signal-side BLACK --> Bike-side GREEN
[This is your ground.]

Note that I got fast blinkers with this approach, but I don't really mind that.

Why????...............the OEM's are big but they are all rubbery and serve as excellent crash protectors on parking lot drops.

Isn't that what the frame sliders are for?

I've seen more people end up w/ the light punching though and a giant hole in the fairing as a result.

The only reason why I havn't switched to flush mounts is because on the F4i you have to shave the fairing, and I have a phobia of doing anything to my bike that I cannot un-do. It's short stalks all the way for me! :teeth
