Men's fashion, how far will it go?

Seems like the Paris show was trying to push men into women's cloths, something that I'm sure Tux would applaud.

In late 2025, a candyfloss-colored fair isle knit from J.Crew went viral when it was dragged into the center of a debate around whether “real men” could wear such a color. The firestorm was sparked by a post on X from conservative commentator Juanita Broaddrick, who said: “Are you kidding me?? Men, would you wear this $168 sweater?” The consensus was largely no – not because of the price tag but because it was viewed as demasculinizing. “More feminization of men. Stop it, J.Crew,” wrote one user. Another described it as worthy of a “Golden Girl.”

If you look through the fashions, many were hideous to me. I'm not homophobic, but there are things that make utterly no sense for a man to wear.

So, fashion is art. I see artistic license here. I guess I’m less perturbed seeing men in pink or wearing a skirt bc I’ve seen this for years already. It’s not a big deal. Skirts are hella comfy and breezy…

Art is gonna art. People are gonna wear what makes them happy. If a dude loves pink, I don’t see a problem.

I don't find them attractive, that's my perspective. Why would a man want to wear a dress? I understand kilts, that is a cultural thing and an excuse to air out their balls.

I like that fashion seems to be moving past limitations and prejudice. The era of “only gay men wear pink” and “real men only wear…” is fucking stupid and needs to fully die. It’s harmful to some ppl and limiting for everyone else. F that.

There is a guy here in Truckee who wears kilts year-round.

Haute couture is not anything to clutch pearls over, it is designers trying to make a statement.

Gemini says golf pros and bros started wearing pink in the mid-2000s. When I was in highschool before that, pink was firmly rejected because it was “gay”. I do rem thinking the acceptance of pink by the bros was a huge cultural shift, as that group was a major part of the problem a few years before. Pink polos showing up at Express on the Men’s side . But that’s just IME and obviously very broad strokes.

If you knew my life, you wouldn't be making that statement. I posted as my opinion and perception. Fashion has put out as many hideous outfits for women as they've put out good, IMHO. Would you tell me that youi've never seen an outfit at a fashion show that you didn't find hideous?

I agree. Men in your 40's or 50's and older, we have some outdated, legacy, programming to deal with. IMHO, the most "manly" thing a male can do is live their authentic life with kindness and care for others. How that looks is up to you. You flex you man card when your voice is the one that you listen to first. Your beer, your car, your bike, your clothes, your hairstyle, none of that shit will ever make you man if you can't be secure in your own skin first. High fashion is always going to be fringe and impractical. It's supposed to be. It isn't supposed to translate into every day wear. That said, if you don't like pink, don't wear it but, your a fool if you think how a person is dressed is reflection of their "manliness" or "womanliness."
