Bump - Does anyone have any interest in this bike? His bike is quite clean! Please give me some feedback on this.

The bike is in the San Jose area.

clean or not, 900 dub r's don't go for $5500 too often.

Sorry bud, but good luck.

Agree, he's priced himself out of the market. He's the only one who thinks this is a great deal.

I checked the Kelley Blue Book on the current value of the Bike, and it shows Blue Book being around $5600 - Is this a true market price or is the 900rr just not being sold at this price at all?

Just want to know what feedback to give my brother for adjusting the price.

Glad you know that we're not bashing you or anything, just throwing out some feedback. :thumbup KBB tends to be off on bikes that have predesessors (sp?) out. Like the F4i being cheaper because the 600rr's out, etc. With newer bikes, KBB is pretty good, but it seems that the 95-2001 bikes in KBB are fairly innaccurate.

Your best bet is to shop around for 900rr's to see what prices they're going for. You're probably looking more in the $3500 range for a 900rr. Unfortunately, Honda has replaced that category of bike in their lineup multiple times with the 929, the 954, and now the 1000rr.

Good luck. Someone else might be able to be more specific than I am in my explanation.

Would this still be applicable with all the aftermarket parts he has on the bike and the riding gear?

Unfortunately, aftermarket parts don't raise the price of the bike nearly as much as sometimes we'd like. Usually, any aftermarket stuff that you put in adds very little value to the bike.

Usually, a few tasteful upgrades will just make the bike hold it's value slightly better (pipe, tires, clip-ons, rearsets), but some things like polishing or other custom work can actually lower the value. A polished frame can mask damage that could have been repaired. Same for rims, etc.

The bike sounds like it's in great condition and all that and the fact that he has stock parts too is a big plus. Often times, when people are off on their asking price, it's because they're looking at how much they have into the bike instead of how much they're going for. When people can buy an 02-04 for $5500, they tend to do that instead of purchasing a 99 even if the 99 is nice.

Anyways, my advice is still to look for prices on other 900rr's and adjust to that assuming that all the nice aftermarket stuff won't get you much more than a few hundred to a grand.

Once again, any 900rr owners who know better, drop the knowledge! Good luck.

Thanks for all the feedback - I really appreciate it.... Well, my brother will really appreciate it.

Hope so. It's a rude awakening. Shit, I know I even did the same with my 929 and it grumped me out when people were offering $3k.
