Why has Mort been such a sour puss lately?
what do you mean lately? Ask the folks that know me- I try to maintain the highest level of negativity and rain on everyones parade at all times.

:teeth

Do I seem to be sour lately? where else have I?

You bet! I'd love it! I figure if you had that bike, you would rarely be firing it up anyway as it's so damn rare and so damn valuable. Only three exist and of the three, Honda has two. And they'd love to get their hands on the third but it ain't gonna happen.

I had the great fortune to be working the track as an NMP at Seca once when that and other great vintage bikes were there. At lunch time they fired them all up for hot laps around the track, ridden by the greats. When it came time for the 250 to be fired up, I found myself about 4 or 5 feet to the side of it and just behind it. I was sitting on the K-wall between pit lane and the main straight. With a finger stuck in each ear and my hands pressing down over my ears as well, it was still almost excruciating. And awesome! I stayed sitting there for the hot laps, watching and hearing it go by at speed not 15 feet away from me. It's my most memorable moment in all the time I ever went to or worked the races.

And no, it's not me. My great grandfather.

Yes, if your talking about the 2005 MotoGP at Laguna, I was there also.
Not to one-up your story or anything but my friend Peter Johnson was in charge of starting one or more of those bikes on display. Honda had brought them over from there museum in Japan.

It was either the 125/5 or the 250/6. But on one occasion he let me blip the throttle once or twice, ever so gently. That was a treat for me, for sure ! (but deafly loud, but I like loud, as was reported some 45 pages ago.. )

Hmmmm,...This story coincidentally, also involves the blipping of ones throttle... I guess, call me "Blippy".dam'it !

Yes, you have a 60k+ desmosedici, great, good for you, we're all happy for you.

You- rev'd it after starting it at the bottom of Alice's p-lot. you then rev'd it while cruising up past the restaurant, nice and loud, yes we all heard you.:|
Then you turned right and went down 84, not bothering to shift for a while, real nice.:|
Not sure why you didn't just leave out he bottom driveway since you had parked next to it besides wanting us all to look at you. mission accomplished.

The rest of us- stood by watching, shaking our heads in disgust, wishing you'd hurry the fuck along and stop disturbing our breakfast!:(

If you can swing it, swing it!

I can't believe someone is complaining about a unicorn stomping around the twisties.

You're lucky to have seen/ heard her.

What does that mean?

That bike may be a unicorn to YOU, whatever, this thread was to address the rider, as I did.

You may feel lucky to see/hear it, I couldn't care and as I said would rather NOT hear it.

Please don't throw your opinions of said bike on me, I do not share them, it's just a bike.:)

I briefly sat in my study thinking about this. I opened a bottle of a perfectly chilled Dos Equis XX. Surprisingly, my conclusion came before I could even take my first sip.

YOU ARE SERIOUSLY F'N LUCKY! Did you catch some octane over your rooty tutti fresh and*fruity?

This is A PIECE OF SHIT THREAD. Mike, grow some eggs between your legs and live and let live. I guess you just need to vent, like a woman. Tisk tisk.

Jokerio, next time I see your Desmo out in the wild, I'm putting a unicorn sticker on it!

Desmo on the streets = Leopard on a leash
Revving it = poking a leashed leopard with a stick

To think, when I'm enjoying my morning coffee at a cafe in town, some douchenozzle on a chopper is going WFO past me, thinking "man, those guys are lucky to hear this joyous noise!" :thumbdown Ear plugs or straight pipes. You shouldn't be allowed to own both.

(no comment on the desmo as I was not around to judge whether he was gently blipping the throttle, or being a moron ripping the throttle open with no load on the drivetrain)

Blippy, thanks for the fuel for this entertaining thread. :thumbup
