MOTOGP 2012 Final Preseason IRTA test, Jerez. 3/23-3/25

ibj-brings up surtees

I don't need to bring up Surtees, Ago or Hailwood.

Rossi has been beaten by Stoner since he got on a factory bike, you can't soundly beat the "greatest of all time" and have him remain the "GOAT", Rossi was the greatest rider from 2000-2006, that's it.

Quote Mat Oxley today... its like I have a brother...

"Edwards' BMW looks like hard work. They need to chop that crank & turn it
into a big bang. Or get an Aprilia - ART looks v rider-friendly"

Pretty much everyone was thinking the BMW was a bad engine. Why not use the r1 I don't know.

Why the Beemer engine? Still baffles me

I don't think Rossi will extend contact with Duc if they don't improve the bike. Personally I wanna see Rossi in Repsol leathers next year challenging Stoner so we can finally see who is the G.O.A.T. =)

Me as well. motogp needs a third manufacturer up there winning from time to time. and it needs rossi winning, even of just on occassion as well. he and ducati dont need to be fighting for the title neccisarily, but 1-3 wins would be great

More talk needs to be done about getting Suzuki and Kawasaki back and less about helping Ducati, in my opinion. I think they should be working on getting Aprilia and KTM into the premier class. Four other options other then just the Ducati, which seems to be a crap bike that only a Stoner could like.

Don't know much on the technical side; would a lower rev limit just keep from putting too much strain on the engines? Will that kill the top speed, or will they just have to gear them differently to make up for it?

RPM's = HP. RPM's = less reliability.

Decrease the RPM's and the engines make less power and become more reliable. You need less exotic materials too. Top speed will be reduced due to the decrease in HP.

BMW could have handed them a crap load of money, a back door into MotoGP.

- Valencia: won a race by 0.015 sec.
- Jerez test 1: 3rd and 4th all day and banging a fastest last lap.
- Jerez test 3: let's Jorge the star of the field most of the day, and top of time sheet at the end of day.

Stoner, biggest troll since Nov 6 2011. What the shit!!

This one took me a second to get, nice.:thumbup

Fuel limits aren't going away. The manufactures want them, and it's probably one of the few real reasons the motogp budgets get approved by the higher ups.

All though the street R1 sports a crank straight out of MotoGp its also a
crank that spins forward which means it won't flick with the same amount of
effort as the short crank V4s or the aft spinning crank of the M1...

The BMW's crank is not only phased like the old cammy hit screamer since
gone extinct in MotoGp but its a crank that spins forward... as Mat Oxley
puts it "hard work"...
