Any other Barfers into old bikes?

Some old, some new
Seems like most Barfers are into sport bikes with some dual sport, dirt and a few cruiser riders. I understand the fun of 100 hp + at the rear wheel but also enjoy my vintage bikes that are older than a number of the Barfers I have met.

Are there any other ( probably old guy) Barfers into vintage or classic bikes that might like to meet up to kick tires or go for a ride?

If I had one I would love to!

I have recently taken an interest into old BMWs.

Not that I could afford to rebuild one but man they sure are purty

Old airhead BMWs are actually quite affordable and easy to work on if you have the inclination.

I've got a '71 CL350 that needs to be fixed up to run. When/if money allows, I'll get her running for a nice around town bike.

just picked up a rat gs750 as a possible dbc bike, but it is almost too nice to hack up. maybe it will be a future sidecar tug instead?

pending a few parts pending from bike bandit, it is close to ready to ride

Let me know when it is oh ether we can go for a ride.

there are quite a few, but given the nature of the forum and high traffic, the vintage nutbags tend to get burried or miss threads about the heaps we love.

www.bayareavintageriders.com is another place you might go look.

i have a problem with first gen goldwings

I'm not too old and I'm not a guy, but I have always had a fondness for vintage bikes.

If you don't mind heading over to the Peninsula sometime and riding with a (pretty slow) newbie, I try to ride my 1965 Honda Dream pretty much every weekend.

we seem to breed Bultacos

Umm, I was into old bikes, when they were new bikes. I've been at this for 60 years (I'm 73), and grew up on Triumphs.

Now I'm so jaded, only the raw 05 ZX-10 delivers.

Dude it's 2013, the '05 bikes ARE old bikes! :laughing

Every time I read a 2013 bike review I'm stunned at how awesome they've become as lots of these new bikes have all kinds of wizardry: suspensions that adjust themselves, electric windscreens, selectable engine maps, ride by wire, pressure sensors in the tires, ABS brakes, cruise control....boggles the mind.

Old bikes are fun to look at but when you actually ride one....new is better.
