Passed on the left in traffic this morning...

Looks like he didn't stray outside the LH fogline, kept it in the lane, easily enough clearance to other vehicles.

Or is lane-sharing not kosher any more?

It's kinda dangerous to pass on the left like that but I am sure the OP is upset because he got passed by a dirt bike with a rider having his socks pulled up.

I duno, I usually wait for a signal from other riders and pass on their right once they're aware, but that's just me?

I was in a hurry to get home and change. My legs were FREEZING!

One tip for reduced commute drama, if I'm in the #1 lane, not splitting, and traffic is below the limit, I stay to the far left side, watch my mirrors, and expect to be overtaken in my lane. But that's just me...

*Lead, follow or get outta the way.*

...and plus 1 million on what Hun said.

+1 pretty much all that. GTFO if you aren't splitting. What are you, a Harley?

It's not just you ... it's what experienced (and considerate) moto commuters do ... even the guy in front of him is doing that. Not saying OP isn't considerate but I do think he is a little more experienced with these recommendations ;)

those were flesh colored leathers with high socks. try to keep up with the times, please.

Non event. Id rather do what he did than go between you and other cars.

Startled you? Now you know how cars feel

I won't pass bikes on the left and I do the best I can to let them know I'm there even when I pass on the right.

I passed two bikes on N280 this morning. Both cruisers, neither signaled for me to pass but one pulled way over to the left side of the lane so I guess 'that' was his signal.

WTF is it so hard to wave someone by or turn on your left blinker for a second? :rant

I too stay left expecting to be passed at any moment by "Ricky Racer" but I check my 6 every 10 seconds or so so I'm rarely taken by surprise.
