My gut tightens ready for the punch every time I read an RIP title. 2013 GS, rider from Sacramento, he could be part of our family, he is part of our brethren for sure.

:rip rider my deepest condolences to his family and friends.

One of the truly scary things drivers do is the no look & no signal U turn after pulling over. Could happen to any of us.
 
Ridden by that spot probably hundreds of times. Total awesome visibility in both directions, unless you are a total moron and look hard to find the stupidest place to do a U-turn.

Rowley: fucking dumbass that found the stupidest place to do a U-turn, while actively avoiding looking in his mirrors to boot!
 
I rolled pass this scene minutes after CHP arrived there. Bike was mangled under the truck we couldn't tell what type of bike it was.

:rose Deepest sympathies to the rider's family & friends. Nothing leaves a hole bigger than having a loved one taken so quickly, so senselessly foolish.

I would like to see this used as an example for the cocooned masses: Nothing less than Vehicular Homicide.

The motorcyclist likely thought that the truck was pulling over to let him pass. :mad I sincerely hope that Mr. Rowley is punished severely for his terrible driving. Sadly, I doubt that this will be the case. :thumbdown
 
At 11:48 a.m., Rowley was driving his pickup west on Highway 128 just west of Steele Canyon Road when he pulled onto the right shoulder in preparation for a U-turn, CHP reported. At the same time, the motorcyclist also was headed west on 128, behind Rowley.

With limited visibility behind him, Rowley started the U-turn and did not yield to the motorbike, according to CHP. The vehicles collided in the westbound lane, fatally injuring the motorcyclist.

It's like reporters HAVE to toss in some rationalization. IF HE COULDN'T FUCKING SEE CLEARLY WHY THE HELL DID HE INITIATE THE U-TURN THAT (oh yeah) "DID NOT YIELD" TO THE MOTORCYCLE [WITH RIGHT OF WAY]?!?!?!!

RIP GS Pilot. You deserve far better reporting of the negligence that cost you your life.

At the spot marked on the map in that story, there's no shoulder and not enough room for a pickup to make a U-turn. I guess it was a bit further East.
