2011 BARF Spring Rally Photo Thread

Let's get those rally pics posted up!

The Adventure crew taking a break at the bridge just before beginning the first adventure loop.

Leading to the obligatory water crossing shots.

Chill chills out:

Kyle on his signature 675 Daytona - Adventure Edition:

I wonder when he's going to equip it with Touratech bling.

The greatest person in history gives his boxer a bath:

Brian goes big!!

The elusive and seldom photographed Ogg in his natural aquatic environment:

Tim, does your wife know what you're up to?

The bridge that made Bridgeport famous.

Snow? Yes, near the top of Yuba Pass:

Three Bodacious Babes of BARF! I suggested that they are really the Righteous Babes of BARF and they should pose like the Righteous Babe logo on Ani DeFranco CD's. Vicki and Sara make their opinions clear, while Gwynne continues to ponder it.

When I said there might be muddy waters available, Gwynne definitely thought it would be a good idea.

Snow on the road on 162:

The intrepid adventurers, mlm, Wheel Muse, and Mean Dad on 162 before we turned back around.

Saturday Early Ride

Got up early and thought I'd have breakfast in a neighboring town: Crescent Mills or Green(er)ville via 89

Greenville won, Crescent Mills had nada. Look at those foreboding clouds

After breakfast this was 89 on route to Genesse. It's was as cold as it looks.

This is all of Genesse the "town"

View of just outside the town

Way up Genesse Rd to the burnt forest

Far as I can go before I had to head back to Quincy before 10am. I'm sure that was the parking lot call.

What a strange unearthly place.

Lottsa twisties, but also lottsa debris around your next corner.

This place got potential.

This is me... after coffee.

Thumbs up Short 'n Sweet

Here's some pix from my camera. I wish I could download some from my head of this sweet but short rally. 760 miles carries a lot of images and impressions. Thanks, everyone!

Berryessa - time to shed the first layer as the day warms.

First gas stop, wipe off the bugs.

Leesville-Lodoga at the top.

Kurt sure can pick the spots

ADV crew @ Bridgeport

teh whole bridge

Downieville

Snow on 49. "I wonder if the weather will hold..."

Thanks Kurt. Incredible route. Great roads, great scenery. I swear you can't swing a dead cat in the Sierras without hitting a breathtaking view.

And a few from the GoPro - smeared bugs and all.

This looks like a good idea

Caution: there might be some pavement in the corners interrupting the dirt/debris

Suspension proving grounds

L-L gets interesting in spots

Other random bucolic roads

Todd, any video? I'm looking forward to seeing any from you or Jack, or any one else who was recording.

Kyle, that looks like some great stuff that you rode on Saturday AM.

Brian, thanks for posting those. It was a pleasure riding with you again.

A familiar vantage point!
Yah, Genesse had a lot of great twisties and great views. And I saw no one on that road until I decided to head back!

Nope. I had the camera in snapshot mode. I'll probably put together a time lapse of L-L later.

You would have done fine with that Daytona Adventure Edition .
As for the familiar vantage point, I was going to post something snide like "yeah, Kurt whines when we don't let him go first", but I think the truth is that I lost my lead privs when I took us up the bicycle path in Colusa

Ooh, let's not forget that little mess in Yuba City.

In truth, any time I think there are likely to be LEO's up ahead, I'm happy to let someone else lead.

Finally got to the hotel around 4pm or so. We were all tired and ready to start drinking!

View from our 2nd story hotel balcony:

Sarah's beauty! I love that Duc The ride down the mountain was a blast - following Kurt, Dennis, Mean dad, and Sarah - I hope I wasn't slowing you down Sarah. Those were some awesome, at times dusty and rocky turns
