pix from CA -> WY -> CO tour
So I rode to Wyoming and around Colorado's Rocky Mtn. National Park, then back to Wyo before the return trip. Had an excellent time & didn't have any mishaps other than encountering the usual western US high-altitude weather (rain, lighning, high wind, and SNOW - yes, snow). Here are a few pix. Sorry that I don't have very many. I forgot my damn battery recharger.
![]() This pic was taken on rt. 50 between Fallon and Austin NV. Had to pull over 'cause the rain started mixing with painfully large hail. ![]() |

Shortly after the hailstorm, I realized that I REALLY should have topped up the tank before leaving Fallon. What was I thinking? This is not a good road to run out of gas on. I was literally running on my last teaspoon of reserve fuel as I limped into, uh, wherever I was.

But my reward was making it all the way to Cave Lake SP E of Ely, NV on the first day to camp. Purty.

This guy was riding from Baton Rouge, LA to the CA coast. He didn't know what a shocker was, so I told him to flash this "gang sign" for my homelies.

Route 50 through UT. I was able to test the terminal velocity of the bike around here.

More rt 50 in UT. I was really blissed out at this point from hour after hour of good, interesting, cop- and traffic-free pavement. Can you tell?

Heading over the divide on my all-time favorite stretch of road: WY rt 70 between Baggs and Encampment. Kick-ass rolling sweepers for 60 miles, and I saw TWO cars on the entire road.

And, about 70 miles later, here's Medicine Bow Peak on WY rt. 130. This is actually about 15 miles from me mum's place and is typically where I spend at least 2 weeks a year mountain biking. It is nice.

Top of Kenneday Peak in Medicine Bow National Forest, WY. My other ride here is a fucked out Dodge Ram 1500. This road didn't help its suspension.
