Val's Burgers in Hayward serves breakfast at the crack of dawn.

After destroying the short stack, I hit the road. Heading East on I-580, then North on 99 through beautiful Stockton, I took Highway 88 towards Jackson.

There's orchards along 88.

There's also old school buildings along the way.

I'd like to respectfully disagree with those who believe our public school system is in shambles.

It rained all week and I just happened to have been stricken by a mysterious illness on the day it cleared up and was unable to report to work that day.

It was kind of foggy in the morning. You pass through a few tiny towns on Highway 88 on the way towards Jackson. Little towns like Lockeford and Clements.

I took some exit towards Ione and stopped to stretch out. I think Ione has one of the largest prisons in the state(?).
