aZn version of : CANNONBALL RUN TO MEXICO!!!! (May 18 to 21)

I'd like to start my own thread of pics, as my story is very different than glf's...

My day started out at 6am sharp. Note the starting mileage. Who says the RC51 couldn't be a sport tourer?

-

First leg of the trip had us going down south and taking HWY 25 towards Coalinga. The sun was barely up, and we were able to make it here riding a brisk pace.

-

The whiteys and latinos, complained about their ass for most of the trip. Here I am just chillin' listening to j-pop.

My ass is just fine thank you. Must be from doing the aZn squating position all my life??

-

"he must workout"

Sun is going down, but still hot as heck. By far the worse heat was over at Palm Springs..

-

We all rode quite well together. Never any misunderstandings or close calls. It was awesome.

Finally! made it to AZ just as the sun was setting. I really wanted to look at the driver and find the 'real' Mr. T. but unfortunately for me, it was just an older white guy.

The funny AZ story is that we did get pulld over by the HWY patrol, doing 70 on a 55. He was cool as heck and just gave us all a good laugh. When we told him where we were from and where we were headed, his eys dropped.. This was our first and only police intervention. I'm very surprised as we avererged 85 MPH on the freeways.

-

The others will echo what I said... Riding through Mexico at night was quite and experience.. Temps were high, pace was fast.. and there was no shoulder to pull over off. This truly was the 'cannonball' version of the trip. I think we all just wanted to get to the hotel as soon as possible for some chille water and cervezas.

-

Finally!!! We made it to the hotel, and my odometer reads 12221, which means for me, it was 800+ miles from my house to Rocky Point.

-

the next morning, we woke up to a magnificent picture perfect morning... What's for breakfast?

-

our hotel was really cool. The staff was great. Our bikes will remain here for the next few days as we didn't feel like riding around in 100+ degree weather.

-

This is Manny's on the beach. They served the most delicous breakfast imaginable. They really know how to uncap beers perfectly.

-

I mean, look at our beatifully prepared breakfast!

As I took this picture, my mind pondered just exactly why this place is named rocky point. Must be some guy named Rocky Mendoza?

-

As we were buying more beer to drink on the beach, I came across these beautys... Che Guerrera sunglasses... Too bad the tint didn't match my natural cheek glow - or i'd be all over them.

-

Was it worth riding 800+ miles for this?

we finished our beer rather quickly.. Just BS'ing talking about the meaning of life and all that jazz..

-

glf has a fetish for laying on empty beer bottles / cans.

-

We went back to the hotel to find a secret message for pacifisticuffs. I couldn't decode it.

-

"We shall get drunk over there!"

The rest of the evening was quite a blur. I remember going into the hotel pool, sans swimtrunks... I remember a dinner and hike through a concrete jungle. I remember very little as I had a little too much water that day.

The next morning I found the answer to life.

-

We were to meet up with glf's hasher buddies on the other side of town. This part of town was really party central.. Very different from our side of the 'hood.

-

Drinks and a dinner BBQ was to be held at this locale.. Note the eye candy. He must work out..

The condo glf's friends rented was just bad... Look at this view. Can you imagine drinking beer on the balcony overlooking the ocean?

-

"WE CAN!!!"

-

Apparently, I told Dave the night before that I can outdrink him. I must have been drunk..

time for some BBQ.. but not until glf, throws his patented 'special sauce' in there...

-

look at those flames! He must be potent. <leyla?>

-

due to some unforseen politics, it turns out that BBQs are forbidden on the patio of the condo. So we had to move the party out by the pool. Which turns out to work out well, since I was able to spit some game to some hotties that were hanging out by the pool.
