![]() ![]() ![]() haha, you said it Tom!!! actually, I'm much more chill since that big wack I took on that ride we did, that was a real wake up call for me that I didn't respect dirt as much as I needed to.....but you're right man, we just barley made it back, mechanically speaking.......I guess I need a stronger bike, cause I really can't tone down my riding too much more and still have fun...... of course, jumping out of those 2 dozen+ hiway washout sections at 60+mph was maybe a bit too much ![]()

yup, let's hope so anyway.......luckily fer me, I know a few talented cats in the car racing biz that can fabricate the taj mahal from sticks, so it may be pricey, but it has to be cheaper than buying a new frame, which is >$1K.....
either way, I gotta strip the frame down and have it bead blasted clean..... which makes it a good time to go through the motor, especially the bottom end, which Andrew's guy left alone when he did the big bore kit and cam and such......bike's got almost 20K on it now, so the the timing is actually quite good for a frame up rebuild....... we had a great time, man, if you still had the DR and weren't gimped up, you'd love it, although Baja can be quite fast in sections so a bike with at least 600cc is prolly best!!! all I can think about after a really good year of moto-adventure trips in 06 (Mendo Nat'l Forest twice, Baja twice, Yellowtone), is how quickly I can get the scoot fixed to return to Baja in the spring....gonna get Michelin DS style knobs for the next run, me thinks.....

![]() ![]() haha, yeah, I wish I could justify spending $8K on something like that ( a REAL bike).....I guess I'm just toooooo cheap for my own good as I'll struggle on on a bike that really isn't designed to be ridden as hard as I like to ride it......or maybe my shitty bike is just an artificially imposed speed limiter on myself, as I've proven to myself and others on countless occasions that impulse control is not really my strong point ![]() ![]() get that thing, man, baja barf run in spring 07 is calling... ![]()
