wazzuFreddo squares off his tires by riding to Phoenix

I had the las week off so I decided to get the hell out of town. I hadn't seen my grandmother in a while so I decided that Phoenix was as good as any place to ride to.

I got up an took off before the crack of dawn on Monday morning

Starting time and mileage

Rather than drudge along on I-5, I decieded to take the fun way (this trip was completely free of I-5, I crossed over it twice but didn't do a single mile on it )

Hwy 25 south of Hollister

Peachtree/Indian Valley Rd.

Nearing San Miguel

Good thing I didn't plan on going back the same way, I don't think my bike will make it that far on one tank.

Next up was the sprint across the valley and up over the hills into the desert.

Just before nightfall, I reached Nevada

After a few days in Phoenix visiting with relatives it was time to head home. Phoenix isn't the best town for the type of motorcycling that I like to do. I mostly just saw guys on HDs crusing up and down Scottsdale Rd or Cave Creek Rd. The "biker bar" that I went to didn't even give my friend and I the half a beer free when the keg blew. They just gave us two half beers and charged us for one like it was some sort of favor

Time to load up and head back to the Yay Area for sure

This morning I left Ridgecrest and headed up to Lake Izabella for some breakfast in Kernville. I asked the lady working there about Hwy 155.

Lady: "Oh, I wouldn't go up that way, especially on a motorcycle, it is way to steep and curvy."

Me: "ok."

She was right 155 sure does suck

More suckage

nice trip dude. if you're going to get rid of the SV, and thinking of a BMW, why don't you consider the vstrom 1000 or 650 as a cheaper alternative. both good bikes. not sure if you had those two in your sights as well.

i am leaning towards the vstrom 1000.

I don't think I can get rid of the SV now, I sort of beat the shit out of it this week.

Now my SV needs:

front brake pads
new clutch fluid
oil and filter change
valve adjustment
air filter
new plugs
new tires
